Except in food stores, I can't think of a reason why pets wouldn't be allowed in, if appropriately controlled.

I occasionally combine a dog trip with a brief stop to get groceries, largely to rationalize a trip out with the car. Leave dog seatbelted, all windows wide open. No sensible person would put their arm inside the car.

It's getting chilly in here now. It's quite lovely. I feel ready to venture outside to go for a walk with the dog.

Wow @BethAnne did you send that wind to us? We awoke in the middle of the night to gusty winds. This morning there are things blown around the campground. One person lost their awning. My husband asked if I'd heard anything about a tornado near by. That's a reasonable question though I think it is unlikely that there was one. That being said, I wonder if we'll learn that that wind has a name. Of course maybe that's the norm in southwest SK/southeast AB. Maybe it's some kind of prairie wind. We also had some thunder. We woke up this morning to clear blue skies and fresh air. Lovely. And we didn't blow away. We rattled a lot but stayed anchored.

Actually I didn't :) Wild thunder and lightning around midnight...everything is fresh and clean this morning. Glad you're safe.

We're fine. We rattled a lot and made odd noises. We have awnings over the slides. They can bang and rattle and sometimes it sounds like someone is walking up there. If anyone had been walking on the roof last night they'd be flying. It was very windy.

Hard to imagine someone adequately controlling their dog in, say, a gift store or a flower store. Not saying that it is not possible.

I know several dogs including my own that would be fine. Of course the owner would need to keep the dog closer. My only concern would be my dog peeing on a plant or display end. He's done that in a pet supply store. It was embarrassing enough there......

Boy dogs are slightly more inclined that way than girl dogs, although Lucy displays a most un-feminine fondness for proclaiming that "Lucy Was Here". She also goes to some hilarious contortions to try to make herself appear a taller dog than she is.

Taught 6-almost-7-year-old niece how to play Monopoly (she asked) - she caught on pretty quick, and is learning some valuable money skills :)

Past two days we also played a slightly modified Game of Life - she is a bit young for that but enjoys it - today's big question when I was convincing her not to cheat was "which is more important - getting money or having a kid?" - after some thought she decided a kid cause she was a doctor and making lots of money and she got money for each kid in the end anyway.

Absolutely. Biological reproduction (the birds and bees) should never be a one-time 'revelation', but rather a natural exploration of how humanity reproduces itself.
