The word, "Son" in the name, "Sonrise" is, of course, in reference to Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Vacation Bible School is an interesting article. We promote it as a result of kids wanting to have fun, and we certainly don't disappoint. However, our real goal is much higher than that - to invite children to accept Christ into their hearts.

Not a bad choice. Ford is about the only North American brand that I'd buy at this point. I remain unimpressed with most of the offerings from Chevy and Fiat-Chrysler (which includes Dodge) save some of their niche products (e.g. the Corvette Stingray, the new Fiat 124 Spider) that I am unlikely to buy. My company has been issuing Escapes to managers for a year or two and the only complaint I've is one of the bigger managers (as in both tall and round) finding them a bit of a scrunch. However, your mother is unlikely to have that issue. Personally, I don't like CUVs and SUVs and of the current Ford line, I'd probably go for a Focus or Fusion.
We only ever buy Hyundai.

We're a Honda family right now, in fact, though I did shop around before buying my Civic last year and Hyundai Elantra made the short list. However, I found the Elantra more expensive once I featured it up to match what I was getting for base price on the Civic LX.

Mom has only driven Fords her entire life so is most comfortable with them - her only complaint is that they don't make the Windstar any more. I too have only had Fords - 2 Taurus (2000 and a 2003) and recently a 2010 Fusion...I find the Focus to be too light on winter roads.

Nothing will ever compare with the 1974 Chev Impala I had years ago. It just floated along on road trips. It used more gas in a week than my Cruze uses in a month, but still it was a great car.
We would never buy a Japanese car. We are considering getting an American minivan, perhaps a Dodge Caravan.

Not a Kia Sedona?
Kia has the Sedona if you want to stay Korean. Don't know much about it but I do see the odd one around here and most Kias are pretty good cars these days. However, the Caravan is one of the few bright spots in Chrysler's lineup so if you need something that size, it's a decent choice (I'd look at Odyssey, too, but you already said you would never buy Japanese so it's out for you).

Possibly. We've thought about a Kia van. However, as we understand it, the Dodge Caravan is the best value these days. A seminary friend of mine has a Caravan and he and his family quite enjoy it.

I still miss the '65 Rambler Classic 770 I learned to drive on. Wonderful car, they don't make 'em like that anymore.
