reality,

ty for creating bits of yourself, people, who have different Belief Systems, from which they act in the world and think of as their world

ty for the internet, which allows us people to see these various different Belief Systems. To appreciate them. To be befuddled by some. To be saddened by some.

ty for showing some people how to be able to switch Belief Systems.

Continuing in his exploration of a certain Belief System

I am often frustrated when I hear the "religious stations" offer reasons why it is imperative to defend Israel over Palestine. Christians are subjected to crap like this:

http://www.jhm.org/Home/About/WhySupportIsrael

http://www.patrobertson.com/Speeches/IsraelLauder.asp

It doesn't matter that it's possible that Israel could even be wrong in some of this, it is ignored. They can watch Israel deliberately disobey their own commandments and view this nation as the image of what God intended. It boggles my mind that that they are allowed more leniency than Palestinians on account of their "special" place in God's plan.

This is not intended to solely put down Israel, because both sides have their own faults, but I do wonder why Christian stations cannot even see how supporting ANY brutalities from any side, is bringing them any closer to God's Kingdom? Did Israel,deliberately build a wall around another people because they don't have enough faith in God to protect them from assimilation? This "wall" is their God and their protection. And "the dome", IMO.

Looking through the forum posts and losing my mind ... losing my religion so to speak ... even losing my words.
Now instead of humming ... 'time to get a gun' I am humming ... 'my daddy stopped talking the day the farm was auctioned - there was nothing left to say' ...

So I am starting to Listen

I listen to this prophet a lot ...
We are not alone.... The prophetic spirit is loose in the land and all who profit by exploitation and oppression are called to choose; there is no safe middle ground, no having our cake and eating it too... geofee

I listen to Chris Hedges on HOPE and think I will join an Occupy Movement somewhere ...
http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDEQuAIwAg&url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KP8YcfdHIN4&ei=jwnlU5irBZKPyATDsIGQDA&usg=AFQjCNHB38pQGYZ1uxT3AuKvLElK7qiInQ&sig2=4i47BTuSUQ5tOoSa3Js0vQ&bvm=bv.72676100,d.aWw

Then I listen to Naomi Wolf who gives us ...
a window into the nationwide scope of the FBI's surveillance, monitoring, and reporting on peaceful protestors organizing with the Occupy movement … federal agencies functioning as a de facto intelligence arm of Wall Street and Corporate America ... categorized OWS activities under its "domestic terrorism" unit.

and then I listen to ...
Mary Gauthier "Mercy Now"

and NOW ... I will go out to my Garden and listen to the birds and the bees!

The Government of Canada is committed to strengthening its bilateral relationship with Israel in a broad range of areas. To this end, on January 21, 2014, Prime Minister Stephen Harper witnessed the signing of a Canada-Israel Strategic Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which reaffirms the close and special friendship that underpins the bilateral relationship, and lays out a strategic direction for stronger future relations between the two countries.

The Strategic Partnership touches on energy, security, international aid and development, innovation, and the promotion of human rights globally - areas where Canadian and Israeli expertise can be leveraged to improve lives at home and around the world.

The MOU will facilitate:

  • additional bilateral agreements;
  • negotiations towards a modernized bilateral free trade agreement;
  • further scientific research cooperation;
  • stronger cooperation in the energy sector;
  • more business linkages, including in innovation;
  • marked growth in security and intelligence cooperation;
  • closer academic ties;
  • enhanced government and private-sector partnerships;
  • enhanced defence and security relations; and,
  • development cooperation.
The above initiatives will be undertaken with a view to advancing common interests and contributing to jobs, growth and economic prosperity in both Canada and Israel.

Melek Zeynep Oyludag: "It's not the Oil. Gaza was just discovered as sitting on top of a major natural gas field. It's bigger than the Leviathan fields if Israel. Enough gas for 50 years. And now it turns out that it may be bigger than this even." So we had established this but Melek takes it one MAJOR step further -- BINGO to Melek, now we need cofirmation with a second source:

"Also, The buffer zone established is just big enough to run the pipes Israel needs to Egypt to start the liquification of their own gas from Leviathan. This is important because Egypt and Israel already had an agreement that nearly got thrown out by Morsi. That's why Sisi took the government from him."

This is HUGE news if confirmed.

Israel's stated reasons for its latest incursion into Gaza are misleading, according to leading journalist Nafeez Ahmed.

Israel is less interested in hitting Hamas than in securing the territory's gas reserves – and keeping Palestinians poor so that revenue from selling the gas does not fall into the "wrong hands".

“Proceeds of a Palestinian gas sale to Israel would likely not trickle down to help an impoverished Palestinian public”
- Moshe Ya'alon
Israel claims it is trying to prevent Hamas launching rockets into Israel and destroy tunnels used by the militant group to move around. Over 300 Palestinians – mostly civilians – have died and around 1,500 have been wounded since Operation Protective Edge began.

However, 1.4 trillion cubic feet of gas worth some $4bn lie beneath the Palestinian territories and according to Ahmed, Israel is terrified that revenue from sales of the gas could be used to fund terrorist attacks.

Israel's defence minister Moshe Ya'alon, former chief of staff of the Israeli Defence Force (IDF), claims Operation Protective Edge is purely aimed at smashing Hamas.

"We continue with strikes that draw a very heavy price from Hamas," he said.

"We are destroying weapons, terror infrastructures, command and control systems, Hamas institutions, regime buildings, the houses of terrorists, and killing terrorists of various ranks of command... The campaign against Hamas will expand in the coming days, and the price the organization will pay will be very heavy."

Yet in 2007, shortly before Operation Cast Lead, Israel's other major incursion into Palestinian territory, Ya'alon said: "Proceeds of a Palestinian gas sale to Israel would likely not trickle down to help an impoverished Palestinian public. Rather, based on Israel's past experience, the proceeds will likely serve to fund further terror attacks against Israel."

Israel's concerns aren't only that the gas revenue could fund terrorist attacks. The country itself is facing an energy shortage. In 2012 Israeli scientists warned in Ha'aretz that the country might exhaust its offshore reserves within 40 years. Although there are huge reserves in the Levant Basin Province they are in contested waters also claimed by Syria, Cyprus and Lebanon – as well as Gaza.

Here's hoping that other local countries

like Syria
Lebanon
Egypt
Jordan
Iraq
Iran
Cyprus
Turkey
Saudi Arabia
Libya
etc

all get into the agape game and rescue the Palestinians
accepting them as citizens
adding to the glory of their country

if only someone would try
maybe a few billionaires (Saudi sheiks?) to help with the relocation?
i can hear
the ululations now, the friendship & camaraderie
the burgeoning humanity
to help a mere few million souls

So there's gas in Palestine? What a surprise. And Canada has joined with Israel, through MOU, to promote human rights globally. Well look no further than your own backyard Israel and Canada.

Syria and Iraq are in no position to do any good for anyone at the moment.

And Jordan and Lebanon have already done more than their fair share for the Palestinians as, at times, has Egypt.

The issue, to my eyes, is for everyone to finally recognize that having a stateless people scattered all over the region is not going to help Israel one iota on peace and security.

Yuppers, we see this issue through our eyes and think what is good and normal is what is good and normal for us

(though if the Palestinians didn't live in Gaza & the West Bank anymore, then Hamas wouldn't be able to use them any more as propaganda...)

An article in Huffington Post about why Israel and Palestine should become overlapping states:

"Mr.___, tear down that wall!" ???

Kind of fits with Reza Aslan's assessment. I read a headline about it in Haaretz, too. There may have been a pay wall to read the whole thing (frustrating about that site). It's not just people in the west talking about it - but, of course, it comes with it's own set up problems like, I think it would be harder to convince Hamas to go along with that than many regular folks on both sides of the current fence - who just want to live and work and play in peace - because that is not what Hamas wants it would mean more violence.

"God weeps because the failure to condemn Israeli war crimes by our political establishment and our compliant media betrays the memory of those killed in other genocides, from the Holocaust to Cambodia to Rwanda to Bosnia. God weeps because we have failed to learn the fundamental lesson of the Holocaust, which is not that Jews are unique or eternal victims, but that when you have the capacity to stop genocide, and you do not, you are culpable. And we [Americans], who provide 95 percent of Israel’s weapons, are very culpable." - Chris Hedges

To further grok the mindset/worldview/Belief System of various groups like Hamas & ISIS & the Muslim Brotherhood, here is some of one man's investigations into that

His book is available on smashwords

Here's one of the latest articles by Scott Atran (I can't recommend his 'Talking to the Enemy' book more -- here's someone who groks & has spent time with actual islamofascists and who can communicate effectively to us)

Chris Hedges is a mensch -- he should be celebrated, esp. for his achievement, albeit temporarily, of stopping the White House's NDAA. Now that is true selflessness.
