Not necessarily. But God rejects their pretense to speak an act for God and will hold them accountable for this arrogant pride.

Define lying, cheating, denying God and everything compared to ... nothing ... an absolute? Ultimately flawed folks should avoid the gods as they are more concerned with wars and profits! No doves and other critters of exchange allowed ... pigs in heaven ... only when senseless about wealth ... this is stonewalled or carved in a difficult spot ...

Ordinary beasts of the temple do not qualify ... that's the beef!

Broken and flawed people have to choose God before they can do God's will.
Do they? Can God, perhaps in the form of the Holy Spirit, not be that niggling need to do something without them realizing right away that's who it is? A writer writing from inspiration who only later realizes that God was the source of that inspiration?

This is kind of the idea behind lures in process. God leads by inspiration, not control.

Nice way of saying that.

What does the bible (God) say about the need for kings?

Is it related in a certain reaction to 1 Samuel 8:18 ... that's chemistry at its finest!

Then a physical god rises from the mire and denies ... as demanding and dictating gods usually do without connection, communication or discussion ... the initial remains over the horizon ... out there from the paradigmatic populace ... so it must be beyond me also ...

God, the powers despise this as it may appear as Joe BLTZFX a vast formless shadow ... maybe a doubt?

In 1748, on board The Greyhound, a fierce storm arose off Ireland. Newton, fearing for his life, cried out to a God he barely knew. He promised that, if his life was spared, he would devote the remainder of it to God’s service. The ship survived – barely – and Newton miraculously made land.

In his gratitude, he never forgot his promise to God - After that he wrote an inspiring song called Amazing Grace.

I was not inspired by Obama's "cover" of it.

Repentance was a big part of Newton's story. He recognized he had done wrong and repented. He also committed to changing his behaviour.

That's more important than. Whether or not he chose god or god chose him.

The idea of god you choose to worship is the one you are capable of becoming.

Whether or not he chose god or god chose him.
Of course, from a Calvinist standpoint, which is where Newton landed spiritually, it is actually the latter. We don't choose God, God chooses us. In fact, God chose who would receive Grace at the beginning of time. Not saying I agree with that (though I do kind of lean to unmerited Grace in my more Christian moments), but it is likely how Newton himself would have framed it.
