We've been over this ground already in the US Election thread. And I doubt it will stop the conspiracy whackos. They'll start in with looking for any possible holes in the idea that he did it. "He was a patsy." "It was an inside job and they killed him so he couldn't talk." and so on.

Could you post the links instead of just the headlines, please?

And I would suggest they should wait for the inquiries before going that far. If the Secret Service followed protocol, they really did nothing wrong, just need to update protocol.

It's my understanding that the video shows they did not follow protocol. He should have been covered and in a getaway car within minutes. The way it played out, he remained in plain view way too long and had there been a second shooter ( or more), there was time for more attempts. And he should not have been allowed to stand up and raise his arm.

To be honest, that's not the first time I have seen this sentiment, but coming from a Democratic staffer is definitely even more unacceptable, esp. as we go into the RNC today.

Regardless of one's feelings about Trump, the idea that it should be open season on candidates people don't like will destroy democracy pretty damn quickly. I think people expressing that sentiment about this shooting would be feeling different if a MAGA nutbar took a shot a Biden or Harris.
 
New video shows some attendees at the Trump rally noticed the gunman on the roof at least one minute before the shooting.
The video shows what appears to be at least one law enforcement officer walking around the building. A spokesman for the United States Secret Service told C

Yeah, he'll make hay from this. It will feed his victim stance beautifully. Yes, it was a close call for him. In the end, he was not mortally wounded. By all accounts, the man who did die was a goo's man. Two other people are in critical condition.

Sadly people who blindly follow their idol will continue to praise him.

I wonder what people will say if in fact Project 2025/Agenda 47 succeeds.

People need to be more informed.

Looks to me like pumping his fist and mouthing ‘fight’ was what kept them from getting him into a vehicle several seconds sooner. Had he cooperated and not tried to provide a photo op, it would have been faster. This seems, to me, to be on Trump, not the SS.
 
If there is one crazy as some powers declare ... will there be an alternate crazy that is subtle as a nemesis? Imagine that fallacy ... everything with balance so as one crazy is elevated ... guess what?
