He’s basically saying, “I told you not to trust me. I made it more than evident. You did anyway. That’s on you.” He’s got a point. That could apply to his entire presidency (though half the world did see trouble coming), his career, all his relationships…but omg, astonishing. He’s diabolical. This man shouldn’t have been allowed power. And I don’t think it’s a legal defence because how else is anyone supposed to get his guarantee for anything, or permission to engage in an investment or financial transaction action involving his real estate assets, without him legally signing off on the information? As far as I know, “I’m the world’s biggest bullshitter.” is not a legal defence. …

He’s guilty but saying he had permission to be guilty because he wrote his own disclaimer to make his own rules that he could be guilty, or to over-ride his obligation, that for some reason makes it all okay.
