Hi George,

The gospel of John contains the gospel. So do the other three. I am only making the point that while Jesus has an interest in social justice and helping the poor, besides the fact that when Jesus was discussing the poor, he usually had another message, like the generosity of the woman who gave her last penny.

Whoops, got off track there, and this machine doesn't want to let me fix mistakes.

The gospel can be delivered sans social justice. The entire gospel is contained in John.

Jesus saves. Food, clothing, any material thing on this planet are of no consequence. How somebody treats us is of no consequence. Jesus saves. He is the bread of life. No more hunger. Not whole wheat.

Hi...

Are you really saying those who profess the name of Jesus have no responsibility to the neighbour, including stranger and enemy? I would say that the Holy Spirit is given to those who have died to their own purposes and risen to communicate the purpose of God. This purpose being the full inclusion of all in the gracious goodness of God. Jesus shows the pattern (logos) in the Nazareth synagogue. He affirms the pattern (logos) when questioned by the disciples of the Baptist. This pattern is consummated in Matthew's parable of the last judgement. Those who love their neighbour are called blessed. Not so with the self absorbed who pass by.

This begs the question: "Who is my neighbour?"

George

As it is written: "If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them."

Or should that be: "Why am I my brother's keeper?"

God sent it out to the mortals as a conflict ... mortals hate peace and prefer hostility with their siblings ... especially those perceived as weaker ... them being below the tyrants horizon ... they see no profound visionaries ... that have vacated the upper rheum ... Volant ... an activity that is parallel to when thoughts, clues and Q's have taken flight ... Q being a converted phi character mistaken as fey ... perhaps ephemeral ... thus chi went ... as fire and light succumbs to the darkness!

When looking deep into alien words one can find enlightening strange things ... like the uber-ich!

Your Neighbour is ---your enemy ---your friends --and all people on the planet -------

The problem lies with humans who say they can love their neighbour on their own power -----and thinking that this will get them to heaven --do good and you'll see God ----and this is very --very wrong doctrine ------according to the very book that these people are so hooked on saying serving your neighbour is the way to heaven ----if we for one minute think that we in our fallen nature can serve our neighbour and think we are pleasing God we are sadly mistaken -----that is not what the scriptures are saying ------

We are to love our neighbour like Jesus loved us ----with Agape ----and no unsaved human can love with Agape their neighbour ---cause Agape is a fruit of the Spirit ----so without the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit ---you can only love your neighbour with your Human broken unclean corrupted Spirit which will fail to love your neighbour as the scriptures say to love your neighbour -----

Without God in us we are nothing but a heap of flesh with a broken corrupt spirit who is not connected to God the Father but is connected to the god of this world who wants to kill --steal and destroy all humans ---

Anyone thinking that serving your neighbour in and of their own power is deceiving themselves and anyone preaching such things is deceiving their whole Church -----and that is the real truth ------No human can dish out perfect Love to their neighbour on their own power -----

In our lives, we should aim to reflect the heart of Jesus through our humility, love, self sacrifice and compassion for others. For some it may be the only glimpse of Jesus/God that they will ever see. Living the Word can be just as powerful as speaking the Word, IMO.

Without responsibility for stuff out there ... does this indicate extenuating irresponsibility ... a growing freedom to do anything you wiles to do? Is that matching up with irrationality or only the isolated Eire ... a breath of clouds?

sure

to understand what James is saying you need to go back and read from James 4;1, James is warning about Living the worldly ways and then James concludes with James 4:4. So James is saying with a stronger conviction of the seriousness of sin than most of us are willing to hold and live with.

if your interpretation of James 4:4 was correct, which it is not , it would have not conflicted with this verse

Matt 4:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,

or

Ephesians 6;12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

The bible has a clear theme that we are to love one an other as human beings, but warns us against not living there sinful ways.

Hi Blackbelt can you give me what book an passage ,you get this from.

Quote from Waterfall's Post

In our lives, we should aim to reflect the heart of Jesus--- through our humility, love, self sacrifice and compassion for others

unsafe says ----Jesus was fully human but He was also fully Divine -----The heart of Jesus was Pure ---it was peaceful ---it was humble -----His heart was Spiritual ----He took and acted on instructions from His Father doing His Will not humans will -----

The heart of us Humans is not pure --not peaceful ---not humble and not spiritual -----our heart is corrupt ----- so how can we really aim to reflect the True Heart of Jesus from our human deceitful heart ----

The only way to aim to reflect the heart of Jesus is to have God in us ------

Jeremiah 17:9-10New American Standard Bible (NASB)
The Deceitful Heart

9 “The(A)heart is more(B)deceitful than all else
And is desperately(C)sick;
Who can understand it?
10 “I, theLord,(D)search the heart,
I test the[a]mind,
Even(E)to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the[b]results of his deeds.

Humility ------
is ridding yourself of pride ----it is relying on God -----which give Him the Glory -----without God in us we are giving ourselves the glory not God ----

unsafe posted this from ----http://biblehub.com/greek/5012.htm

this says it all -----For the believer,----5012/tapeinophrosýnē("humility") means living in complete dependence on the Lord, i.e. with no reliance onself(the flesh).-----properly, low;humility, "lowliness" of human pride (self-government); that qualityof mindset of "having a humble opinion of oneself, i.e. a deep sense of one's (moral) littleness – i.e. lowliness of mind"-This brings behavior into alignment with this inner revelation to keep one from being self-exalting(self-determining, self-inflated).

Worth Repeating ----
-----For the believer,5012/tapeinophrosýnē("humility") means living in complete dependence on the Lord, i.e. with no reliance onself(the flesh).-----

Strong's Concordance -----read all here ---http://biblehub.com/greek/5012.htm
tapeinophrosune: humility
Original Word:ταπεινοφροσύνη, ης, ἡ

Definition:humility, lowliness of mind, modesty.

Love
---- Agape ----which is a fruit of the Spirit ----not human produced ---

unsafe posted this from ----http://biblehub.com/greek/26.htm --see below scripture that unsafe posted

26(agápē) typically refers to divine love(= whatGod prefers

1 Corinthians 13GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)

Love
13 I may speak in the languages of humans and of angels. But if I don’t have love, I am a loud gong or a clashing cymbal.2 I may have the gift to speak what God has revealed, and I may understand all mysteries and have all knowledge. I may even have enough faith to move mountains. But if I don’t have love, I am nothing.3 I may even give away all that I have and give up my body to be burned.[a]But if I don’t have love, none of these things will help me.

This is the Greek word used in this scripture for love ---
love,
ἀγάπηνagapēn26love, goodwill from agapaó

Strong's Concordance----http://biblehub.com/greek/26.htm
agapé: love, goodwill
Original Word:ἀγάπη, ης, ἡ
Definition: love, benevolence, good will, esteem; plur: love-feasts.

In the NT,26(agápē) typically refers to divine love(= whatGod prefers).

Self sacrif
ice ----
as we see below encompasses a lot on our part -----can we really be self sacrificing like Jesus with a corrupt human heart ---without a change of heart -----

unsafe posted below from ---read all here ---https://www.biblegateway.com/resources/dictionary-of-bible-themes/8481-self-sacrifice

8481 SELF-SACRIFICE ----
The willingness to leave one’s possessions or to give them to others; to deny oneself to the point of death or to give oneself in the service of God or other people.

Self-sacrifice as forfeiting one’s present comfort for the sake of others

Hebrews 11:24–27 (ESV)
By Faith
24 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,25 choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin.26 He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of

Self-sacrifice as giving one’s possessions to others

Jesus Christ commends the willingness to give away one’s possessions

unsafe says ---Example ----------If you have one car and your neighbour was in need of a car would you be able to give your only transportation away to your neighbour and trust by Faith with your Human heart that you would be looked after for transportation ------

Self-sacrifice as leaving all and following Jesus Christ

Such sacrifice is a condition of discipleship----This means loving Jesus Christ over and above one’s immediate family.

unsafe says
----
I wonder how many of us humans put Jesus Christ first before our families -----

Self-sacrifice as the metaphorical laying down of one’s life for others

Followers of Jesus Christ are required to give themselves in the service of others

unsafe says ---
Agape --fruit of the Spirit -- in action

Self-sacrifice as the literal laying down of one’s life ----

Jesus Christ warns his disciples to be prepared to give their lives

unsafe says ----

would take a lot of Faith and Spiritual Courage in God and His word

Compassion ----

unsafe says ----

True Compassion will move us to help not just feel pity or sorry for the person but feel their pain and suffering to the point of moving to elevate it ----

-https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&rlz=1C1LENN_enCA460CA476&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=bible meaning of compassion&*

What does it mean to have compassion for others?

Compassion literally means “to suffer together.” Among emotion researchers, it is defined as the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another's suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering .Compassion is not the same as empathy or altruism, though the concepts are related.

and this below from --

KJV Strong'sG4697matches the Greekσπλαγχνίζομαι(splagchnizomai).
"be" AND "moved" AND "with" AND "compassion*" AND "G4697"
occurs in1verses in the KJV.
Mar 1:41
And Jesus ,moved with compassion, G4697 put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.

The Holy Spirit indwelling in us is the only one who can show us the real heart of Jesus--- in my opinion -----we humans can try to imitate the heart of Jesus but we will fail miserably in our quest to show ---humility, love, self sacrifice and compassion these are a Heart issue and without a change of heart we can't begin to come close to succeeding ------ Saved People have to be on guard all the time to keep the flesh at bay we need God's Grace to help us resist and stay humble --- our Human Ego is very powerful and will feed itself with selfish motives to puff ourselves up -----

New Living Translation
2 Corinthians 12:7

even though I have received wonderful revelations from God. But to keep me from getting puffed up, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from getting proud.

Are there some lords (of the earth, as dirty commentary) that would suggest humans humble themselves to those lords ... while some lesser humbling lords would support the lesser versions of truth as held up by powerful lords ... considering the power of corruption et al? Then some lords are specifically blind to corruption because they've closed their eyes to'it to support the success business ... a devil of a conflict in a mind of dual nature as simple the Deus ... in Latin this is a two faced Caduceus ... light facetiae? that can turn and take flight quickly on a hint of something needing initiation at primary doings ... that's ID!

Some say Cest Ca ... i.e. that's the spirit which simulates an emotional giggle in the background as those denied see what's going on in the mettle 'n pot ... a kind of jaerd thingy! So much to pout together in a construct across time ... especially if you are confined to presence of mind and nothing beyond that ... abstract hues?

And the ND "all" that initiated the sol said let him eat dirt ... it'll give them some body ... and thus mortar-ism ... it stuck! --- Some 33 degree Mason! Rejected by those baptised and white washed ... contrary to the wishes of the primary glazer ...

blackbelt1961 -----Just to clarify ----the Scripture you quoted above is Matthew 5:44 --not 4:44

This is that scripture
Matthew 5New International Version (NIV)

Love for Enemies
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor[i](AW)and hate your enemy.’(AX)44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,(AY)45 that you may be children(AZ)of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.(BA)46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?(BB)Are not even the tax collectors doing that?47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

This is the Greek word used in that scripture ----------to love; for the believer, preferring to"live through Christ" ---- (by His power and direction)

25. agapaó
Strong's Concordance
Cognate: 25 agapáō– properly, toprefer, to love; for the believer, preferring to"live through Christ" (1 Jn 4:9,10), i.e. embracing God's will (choosing His choices) and obeying them through His power.25(agapáō) preeminently refers to whatGod prefersas He "is love" (1 Jn 4:8,16).See 26(agapē).

/agapáō("to love") means actively doing what the Lord prefers, with Him (by His power and direction)

unsafe says
this is just my view ------and posted Greek word

There is one brotherly love in the New Testament that I am aware of and that is when Jesus ask Peter --do you love me ----John 21:17 ----and found one in Romans as well

This is the Greek word for love in that scripture ----

5368[e]phileisφιλεῖςhave you affection forV-PIA-2S

phileó: to love
Short Definition:I love, kiss
Definition:I love (of friendship), regard with affection, cherish; I kiss.

unsafe says ---and posted verses 44and 45 from above scripture

Which is what love we humans will have for our neighbour until we renew our spirit and grow in Christ ---in my opinion -----we have to do the work to perfect our Love walk with Christ -----we have to mature in Christ

verses 44 and 45 go together and give you clear clues as to the type of love it is -----We can only be a Child of God by and through Adoption by receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour

44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,(AY)45 that you may be children(AZ)of your Father in heaven.

In my view the unsaved person can only have Phileo(verb) means “ ‘to have ardent affection and feeling’—a type of impulsive love”
This is the natural, human type of love and affection that we have for a friend and is often defined as “brotherly love.”

Natural human love is very demanding and is unstable and can disappoint and fail in my view -----Agape is steadfast and rooted and has no demands it never fails -----

I would say for me personally ----A parent's love towards their child is the closes to Agape in this world ----but at times the parent child love wavers and becomes unstable it is not continually grounded and rooted like the love Jesus showed -----

So can unsaved people go out and do the work of Jesus ----They can try but the way I see it is we need the Holy Spirit and God's Grace to truly Love ---Agape ---our neighbour and enemies ------but then that is just my view -----

In Romans 12 verse 10 --say Christians are to love one another with brotherly love ------

Romans 12:9-13New King James Version (NKJV)
Behave Like a Christian
9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

This is the Greek word used in this scripture --Definition:brotherly love, love of Christian brethren.
