Does Islam consider the role of wife a higher honour than doctor?

That could be one expectation and one that I think most of us could live with. However, it could also be a sign that they simply think the husband comes first, regardless of the wife's qualifications which I think most of us would have problems with today. We'd need a Muslim from that mosque to tell us (because Muslims are not a monolithic block anymore than Christians are, we can't just assume that what one of our Muslim members says applies to all).

Dr Davis? like Dr Phil ?

you need your own reality show !!

Which would then make me eligible for public office, a la the Donald.

And on the subject of how Bette's minister was addressed, I doubt that "Mrs. Joe" was meant disrespectfully. Probably the opposite. A cultural thing most likely, although they may have some difficulty with the concept of female clergy and how to treat them. Hard as it is to believe I still know of a few United Church people who aren't sold on female clergy. I was told a story recently by one young, single female colleague who had just baptized a baby boy and was walking him into the congregation, when someone called out, "I guess that's the only way she'll get a man to walk her down the aisle." As she said to me, the man probably thought he was joking but to her, understandably, it was disrespectful and embarrassing.

But if Islam is offering this as behaviour, then I'm suggesting they'd better be able to offer an explanation for why it is so, which is why I asked the question.

I've already had what I'm thinking is probably the general answer for why women pray behind men from the Imam at our local mosque. He tells me that women are more virtuous than men, and less inclined to sexual temptation. Men who can see a woman's behind in front of them will have lust get in the way of their adoration of God/Allah.

That would depend on who the women are. You could no doubt get a position at the front.

I know that and so does @blackbelt1961 (though not that it did not come back with Polo as they used to believe). He did clearly say "well more precisely perfected it".

Don't know about that one either. The two best spaghetti chefs I know are my Mom (who's Scottish) and Yobo (who's South Korean).

I'm a good spaghetti chef myself but the guy at the restaurant where we ate most of our dinners in Milan ... mwah ... perfecto!

not to derail the thread, but I wondering where in Italy have you been?

Rome, Naples and Milan. First two on a trip together, third was a separate side trip when we went to Switzerland. Mrs. M has also been to Venice and Florence but I wasn't on that trip.

Now you have made a claim. Kindly produce the evidence.

You got the money for a trip to Italy? Because that's the only way to produce the evidence in this case.:D Dinner at BB's place might work, too, though.

Oh no Sir. You made the claim so you must produce the evidence. If anyone's paying for a plane trip it'll be you. Now cough it up. :ROFLMAO:

It's expensive but the mountains are lovely. A tour to Jungfraugoch, the highest train station in Europe, is a good bet. We also spent time in Lugano (which is why we made the side trip to Milan, which is nearby), which is nice little resort city on a lake with some, small hikeable mountains at either end.
