His impulsivity and narcissism does make him vulnerable to listening to those who worship and adore him. I imagine he has sycophants feeding his delusions and telling him he's right. This is different in my mind from advisors who tell him what to do.



I think this is a big part of the problem, though I don't think he actually has self-confidence. He needs to be the bestest and biggest and smartest to compensate for his perceived weaknesses. Now he's tasted what he considers absolute power, he won't want to give that up easily. As we have seen. Plus Biden is a man who presents as being kind, having empathy and caring. Those are all characteristics the president apparently learned to despise. How then could such a weak man beat him.

As for the phone call, he's doing what he's done as a businessman - trying to make a deal. Of course it's very possibly behaviour that has attracted the attention of people who investigate these things since it is likely illegal. I noticed that he sounded a bit desperate in the recording. For what it's worth

I worry not only about those who worship and adore him. Most of them will get over it soon enough, I think (though, some, might continue to react badly for awhile). There are a lot of regular people who voted for Trump, who will find something else to do once things settle down. I worry about his legacy/ influence on others who might seek power.

Reading the transcript of the call, I couldn’t bear to listen to an hour of him rambling, is stunning. Both for the things he says and the way he says it. It is incoherent so much of the time

Trump having a full blown narcissistic crisis isn't a very comforting thought.

That worries me too. I've seen a few temper tantrums from people with personality disorders, including narcissists. They're not pretty. I don't want to think of what sitting or former president could do. So far it seems the US system does have some checks and balances that help.

Now, since Trump appears to have no morals to fall back on, I would consider him totally without power in two weeks. What damage can he realistically do before then? Pardon more criminals, murder more death row inhabitants, would be about it. I don't think he could get a war going in two weeks unless he dropped a bomb.
