TRUMP - Some people think......... How do you feel?

We need a thread on Biden:
Here's one of his latest.....doesn't sound too promising to me. "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, you ain't black" during his interview on the Breakfast Club......where he was quickly reminded incarcerations for blacks went up and harsher sentencing, after Biden crafted the 1994 crime bill.

Trump or Biden...it really makes no difference. The reality is that the US is not a democracy, and it never was.
We tend to think of George Washington as the first real American. But the reality is that George Washington was an Englishman, and one high weallth. He was the biggest landowner in the U.S. Most of the people who surrounded him were of the same type.. He was rich. He had nothing but contempt for the poor. He was profoundly racist (rather like Churchill would be.) That's why he had no trouble beginning the mass slaughter of native peoples (men, women and children) so he could steal their land and make himself even richer. (Incidentally, Washington never made all people equal. Under him, large numbers of American poor had no right to vote.)

Americans, like most people, prefer to kid themselves about what they are or were like. Americans and American history, like most peoples, have illusions about their nation and what they are like.

Essentially what the 'aristocratic' and very English Washington formed was a country to be be run, like Britain of the time) by the rich.

And so it still is. Both Democrats and Republicans bow to the wishes of the very rich. That, by the way, in the last few months as much of the U.S. plunged into poverty, the super rich actually got richer by some 340 plus billions from the U.S. government. And neither Democrats nor republicans challenged that.

Canada's Liberals and Conservatives, alas, are not as different as we might kid ourselves.

Well I guess from ours and the American peoples lack of outrage it just shows our complacency......or is it our humanity?
Napoleon Bonaparte once said: "Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich."

That's a problematic comment in so many ways. Uh oh. Way to go, Joe :(

It really doesn't matter who wins the U.S. election. Trump is a man of very serious mental illness - as well as being the servant of the super rich. Biden, perhaps, doesn't have mental illness. But he too is a servant of the super rich. And he's stupid. There is nothing to hope for in the U.S. election.

Neither choice will make the slightest difference. The reality is that there is NO choice. Well, maybe. Trump's mental illness could, perhaps, make a difference. But the final word is that the American people do not have a democracy, and never have had one.

Oh, Trump is now going to open the churches for services with full congregations. Death to the unbelievers or, more likely, death to the believers.

Can't the USA be a Republic and a democracy or a Republic and a oligarchy at the same time?

More specifically, this:

“THE COVID VIRUS has been a gift from God,” began Ken Eldred. “The kingdom of God advances through a series of glorious victories, cleverly disguised as disasters.”

is messed up.

And abortion really should not be a defining issue this year given all else that is going on (Covid, declining relations with China, US and global economy in tatters from both).

This might be just enough lunacy to convince Americans, where possible, to vote sensibly.

Or, alternately, enough crazy Trumpists will die of the virus that they skew the vote to Dem, automatically. I don't wish for this, but it might happen.
