Noam Chomsky did not seem to have a problem with the word 'elite' as used in the context of my previous post ...

In the context of my previous post let us refer to this definition of 'elite' for clarification then shall we:
  • The elite (French élite, from Latin eligere) are a small group of powerful people who hold a disproportionate amount of wealth, privilege, political power, or skill in a society. Defined by the Cambridge Dictionary, the "elite" are "those people or organizations that are considered the best or most powerful compared to others of a similar type."
Giants: The Global Power Elite :
  1. Transnational Capitalist Class Power Elite: A Seventy-Year History
  2. The Global Financial Giants: The Central Core of Global Capitalism, 17 capital investment firms with over $1 trillion dollars, a $41.1 trillion dollar cluster of cross-invested centralized capital
  3. Managers: The Global Power Elite of the Financial Giants, 199 directors of the Giant investment firms, names biographies and public net worth

Um, no, not really. Their specialized corn is still a bit pure in spots but basically what's in season in SW U.S. is seasonal in Mexico.

If you avoid certain countries, you have to re-introduce some level of seasonality in your diet.

I'm currently in love with "living lettuce", root ball intact so you can get a few extra new baby leaves off it as you eat it. Grown in an Ontario greenhouse.
 
Freeland is stating she is going to DC for orderly and cooperative initiation of the new trade agreement ... is this insane considering the irrational emotions of the leaders down there?

Can cooperation work in a domain driven by authorities that believe only in aggression and conflict? It may be a conflictive opinion ... the opinions are said to be based on emotions and not adequate information ... fringe stuff as a threshold event?

We're doomed ...

CNN has aired a segment in which pundit Fareed Zakaria tells the network’s audience that ...

The US president has “been unwilling to confront Putin in any way on any issue”

and asks “will Venezuela be the moment when Trump finally ends his appeasement?”

Will Trump be brave and patriotic enough to further escalate tensions against a nuclear superpower?

If Trump fails to give the people what they want ...
  • increase world-threatening nuclear tensions
  • effect yet another US regime change intervention
  • in yet another oil-rich country
... it will of course, be because he is a Kremlin agent.

OK. But how'd he, by chance, manage to just come across these 14 million files all of a sudden, just before he's about to go to jail? I mean, I don't like Trump, but Cohen is a (self admitted) shady operator, himself - it is kind of weird that these vast numbers of files suddenly surfaced. I feel like this is all a high stakes poker game.

Sounds to me more like a desperate man trying to worm out of doing his time.
