Yes, we should. Will we? I am not holding my breath.

I would also point out that the refugees were still in Mexico when they fired so a less friendly Mexican regime could likely turn this into an international incident very easily. Effectively, US border patrol committed an act of war by firing on a foreign country.

Said to frighten? Not at all. The exact opposite. Said to warn and exhort to preparation. As Radar O'Reilly would have it: "Incoming wounded."

There is this old adage about not knowing your past ... and where you come from ... reciprocal reflection? Thus the field of ethics without ends due to the immense strange data (information, intelligence) still out there ... if you believe in infinite of that thing whatsoever!

This is not really a Trump thing, though. It could have happened with Pence or even Clinton in the White House. If some minor power did it, there would be ambassadors recalled and threats of sanctions. But the US gets a pass, as usual, for being the US.

Trump is our hitler - not yet in full bloom. His objective is that of almost every president since 1045. He wants the U.S. to be the head of an empire that covers the whole world. Immigrants are his Jews. He's not mass killing them yet - but that will come.

Canada is, alas, already part of the American empire. We can expect to fight wars for the U.S. as we once fought them for Britain. (In fact, that's what Korea, Afghanistan, LIbya, Syria, Haiti, and our troops on the Russian border are about.)
 
Last night I was watching the "West Texas" episode of Places Unknown with Anthony Bourdain. People there were very clear in saying emphatically we DO NOT want a wall - these people are our neighbours, our loyal friends, sometimes part of family. In some areas, there is frequent & free transit across border - which is a river. They also said - we NEED the river to survive here - a wall will block that. They also took a river rafting trip - looked like parts of the Colorado river - Mexico on one side, US on the other. The guides commented on how people come with assumptions about the Mexican people and leave quite changed by spending a few days & nights on the river. No doubt there are others who do want the wall ... but it was interesting to hear this perspective so clearly. It was an interesting episode - recommend watching it.

Trump probably said, "Put ChuckAndNancy out in the hall with one podium!"

If they have senses of humour they should work it...go everywhere like that. Have press conferences where one speaks and the other just stands there stone-faced, and switch it up so we don't know who will do the talking...work the disappointed parents theme...start a YouTube channel together. Have potato sack races. They could really turn it to their advantage! There are a bunch of SNL skits there that just wrote themselves...and maybe a South Park episode...they should make the best of it!
