What Melania, Ivanka, Ivana, Marla tell us about the role of women in Trump's world

Marla actually got $2m not 1m - my mistake. Ivana got $25m - so Donald was more cautious with his second marriage. With his 3rd, I'm guessing maybe he was as well. But, only guessing - that maybe Melania's prenup is not as iron-clad as it could be.

Honestly? If you are counting on his wives to bring him down, you're on the road to disappointment. Sure, they probably know where the figurative "bodies are buried", but they also know they will be on the hot seat if they come forward and may not consider that trouble worth the effort.

There's a big issue here for Canadians.
Trump is not the real problem. The real problem is the U.S. and its domination by the very wealthy. If Trump goes, that won't change.
That domination by the wealthy has meant invasions and millions killed all over the world. Canada is a colony of the U.S. The U.S. expects it fight American wars. That's why we bombed Libya. That why Canadians died in AFghanistan. That's why Canada has troops in Syria and Iraq and in eastern Europe ( which is extremely provocative, and could make those troops in Europe sacrifices.)

All this is necessary because we accept our status as a colony.

There are more wars on the way, and the U.S. will expect us to do 'our share' in these wars which have been and still are fought to help American billionaires conquer the world.

While we, on Nov. 11, will mutter sanctimoniously about how Canadians have 'died for their country' in places like Afghanistan and the ones that are coming, 'Died for their country' is rubbish.' They were sacrifices serving the greediest and most immoral people on this planet. We have, many times, since 1945 sent Canadians to kill and to die to please the U.S. And, in doing so, we have broken every promise we made to those who served in World War 2. The chance was there to move toward world government. We threw it away to please the very wealthy (in Canada as well as in the U.S.)

We are now getting our 'thanks' in these bargainings with Trumps. And its going to get worse, much worse, as American big business will want control of Canadian land and water as climate change is felt.

It's time to loosen the eternal handshake. It's time to do what the Europeans are thinking of - to become more independent of the U.S.

It's not just Trump. The U.S. is collapsing. The rot and corruption and greed are very, very deep. They were deep before Trump, and they will only get worse after him. There is every possibility it will try to take us down with it.
 
Our circumstance is wholly congruent with the circumstance of all the risen and fallen civilizations. Just as the end stage of cancer is visible, so is the end stage of civilizations. The question is not how to stop and reverse the dominant patters. Are we ready to vacate the prevailing social economy to imagine and express another? To abandon the economy. To stifle the consumer in us and liberate the citizen. No simple matter. Requires soul searching and integrity. Not the kind of thought process operative in the masses entertained by diverse spectacles. Professional sport being a prime example. The ritual of competition. Definition of winners and losers. The players empowered for high end consumption. Admired by the young who aspire to such a station in life.

Treason in the face of misused and abused power is no crime in the sight of God. What troubles God? Apathy and indifference regarding matters of ultimate concern. The preoccupation with the trivial and the irrelevant. With Camus and many more I prefer rebellion to compliance. This is what I understand as following in the way of Jesus. Which those devoted to the religion about Jesus seem unable or unwilling to see. To them Jesus is the ultimate scapegoat. No matter how evil we become God will see only the blood of Jesus. Go on. Eat, drink, and be merry. For tomorrow we die. You have no responsibility here. Just hold fast to the blood till you die. Then you will see what life really is. Then you will have all of your deepest longings addressed and answered. For now? You're the kings kids. Live it up! Showing your appreciation for such blessings by committing some proportion of your earnings to fund the temple economy. Where the glory of God is worshipped. And the Bible is managed to further the expansionist sensibility at the heart.

Jesus got the folk to divest themselves of Caesar's money economy. A withdrawal of interest. A redirection of commitment. All while preparing for leave taking; as the shadow of Rome loomed large. This community of faith dispersed to the far reaches of the Roman Empire, and beyond. Bearing with them the word of life. Resist the inclination for exercise of power over others. Be vigilant to suppress it at its first appearing. Lest it grow to the scale of a monster. Be industrious and thrifty. Be a good neighbourhood. Avoid and resist the love of money; a sign of power seeking power. As per Thomas Hobbes's definition of human meaning and purpose.

Citizens is what the world needs now. Persons invested in the best of all possible outcomes. Dedicated to each personal insight and ability offered in service to the common good.

I'm just hearing about this now, and it's a non-issue if it was a prank call, but isn't it interesting that it is no longer unthinkable that the President of the United States might disguise his identity to protest and protect his vanity? I mean, who could hear about this story and immediately dismiss it as implausible? He's done it before.
 
I was hoping it was "John Miller" and it would add to the 25th Amendment case. It's pretty bad when they've got all this proof that he really isn't the right person for this job, for a number of reasons (to put it kindly), but there is no straighforward way to 'fire' him. He's working for (or not working out for) the American people, and by extension, the whole world. He doesn't get that and it sometimes feels hopeless. At least he gets a laugh out of people, at best.

He's a mass murderer for the wealthy. And that's been American foreign policy for a long time.

The great problem is not Trump. It's a profoundly corrupt United States controlled by some of the greediest people in history. Dumping Trump will change nothing.

All things are questionable ... but fundamentalists do not accept it .. even if it is in the bible ... square pegs ... round holes? Sometime they fit ... sometimes not ... depends on how they are squared off ...

Robert Service wrote a poem about circles, squares and triangles ... some squares had to be enticed by rye Ness ... thus the baring of what wasn't there ...
 
Trump is presently talking with the governor of Puerto Rico and discussing the cat 4 and cat 5 hurricanes that have never been seen before ...

They must be hoax ... so let the ridiculous commentary continue as non existent!
