Obama and the Democrats are fighting against a rising tide of revelations that threaten to expose a scandal far worse than Watergate.

The scope of the malfeasance is so vast that any one named crime seems insufficient to capture the nature of the story.

Trump is just another loyal empire lackey. He is not a uniquely depraved president .

He is just not as articulate as his predecessors when it comes to covering for the perverse mechanics of a globe-sprawling murderous empire.

People are standing up and saying enough, and Trump ordered the National Guard in. He wants military style policing to dominate the streets...And here you are (one would think you'd be in solidarity with those protesting but no) you are more concerned with f'king Obama and the Democrats. Those out to deceive you got you to look the other way at some shiny object they knew would get your attention - because you've been trained to hear their dog-whistles and get enamoured with their distractions. Obama smears being one. Democrat smears being another..among several.

I am not being gaslit I am not a Q follower I am fully aware that the protests for justice are going on and they have legitimate cause. They had legitimate cause before Trump ... you are making a feeble attempt at gaslighting me yourself ... it will not work ... I am not pro government or partisan one way or another. Trump Obama Bush or Clinton Trudeau even ... not one of them is better than another ... they all belong to the same club ... they all protect each other when push comes to shove ... Trumps style is just less polished ... I am not deluded that anyone of the POTUS Establishment Puppets will be held accountable in any significant way for their 'crimes' ... that does not mean they did not commit them. They are all corrupt to the bone ... Trump is no exception .... he just blatantly puts the ugly face on it for all to see ... I was never trained to hear the dog-whistles ... I may watch your video later when I have time to do that @unsafe. My first response is that any good he may have done (and I do hope there's some) has been undone by the horrible way he's responded to the pandemic and the current uprisings. He's shown terrible lack of empathy and a mean spirited nature during this time. He's done what he can to divide. He's claiming to be law and order and has threatened to use the military to dominate. While there may be a place for some "law and order", it's only with a minimal number of people in the broad scheme of things.

Our true nature tends to come out during times of crisis. The president's nature is not a good one.
 
Trump had the area cleared of protestors through smoke bombs and flash bangs so that he could walk over to a church for his fascist photo op. Bible or no Bible. He doesn’t even know what’s in that book anyway. It was fascist posturing. Coopting Christianity at an important time - when he should be urging calm - to show he has power - even to suggest that he’s God ordained to “dominate” the protestors. It was disgusting symbolism.

And...breaking distancing to attend global protests against systemic racism and police brutality is different from attending a funeral, or a wedding - personal, family affairs where relatives and friends can get each other sick - or even protesting covid restrictions...because... Black and racialized communities are being hit hardest by covid, precisely because of systemic racism. I was feeling hemmed in by covid restrictions, even here where they didn’t change my life that much - but I realize that systemic racism is a far more important thing to protest than whether or not I could get a haircut. Because, for me, that’s what it came down to. For others, I know their livelihoods were and are at stake because of covid shutdowns. It’s racialized communities - in addition to healthcare workers - disproportionately taking risks to work and deliver the goods and services those who are comfortable, want and need, in systemically racist conditions. They have disproportionately experienced the death toll from covid in US and elsewhere. I am mindful of that.

For real and intelligent news, the best paper is The Guardian. (British). Israel has an excellent if more limited paper in Haaretz.
I would not trust any newspaper from North America. And North American radio stations are usually bad. CBC might be the best of the lot.

There are good sources on the web.- - rabble.ca, with many former CBC people, is good. Also check out Gwynne Dyer for superb commentary. Many, many years ago, I shared a studio time with him at CBC. He was good then. He's brilliant now.
Also on the web check out Information Clearing House, National Observer, common Dreams.
Also brilliantly desirable is The Decarie Report, three days a week. It taps into a range of sources.
