O' the wee bits of authoritarianism scattered like spots of the Shadow ... we all have trouble keeping it buried and contained ... well-jaerd?

The resolution is putting the spots together in a zero sum .. a dream ... some say dreams are nothing but desires for change ... and thus we return to the rye state on the undertakers table ... a sad state after putting up with Gods of life ... now nothing left but waste for the partisans ... who pick up the rubble and Runes ...

The penned uLem swings to get icons imprinted on the essence of sol ... that brighter spot ... out-there somewhere sunshine!

In the mean whiles ... the digging goest on ... as what dell did that mean?

When one makes a blanket statement about people based on the geographic origins, That is racism. That's what the word means. For just a touch of common sense - the Russians rebelled against the Tsar. Does that suggest a love of authoritarianism?
They overthrew Stalinism. Does that suggest a love of authoriarinism?
Americans, for years, supported indiscriminate and even murderous torture. And they still refuse to inquire into it. Doesn't
t hat suggest a love of authoritarianism?
American presidents can imprison people with charge or trial. Isn't that authoritarianism? Americans support constant police intrusion into their private lives, phone calls, e mails.... That is authoritarianism.
Many, many Americans and Canadians support people who say we must all support American (or Canadian) values. And they will decide what those values are. Authoritarianism?

When they favour leaders like Putin for so long, it is not racism it's the truth. It would be racism if it were a maliscious stereotype but it is simply the way things are there. I said not all Rissians but it is common that they prefer authoritarian leadership - which is a style of leadership - preference. It is culturally learned there not genetic, anyway! Nothing to do with "race"!

How do you figure? Many different races come from many different geographies. The head of my university program was an Asian man born in America. The head of my seminary program is a white man who was born in Africa.

I don't figure it. it's just what us humans do. I have never heard of a society that was not deep in racism. It's the justification for wars and killing. The British Empire was profoundly racist and authoritarian. (check that out Kimmio.) The western attacks on native people in the Americas was racist and authoritarian. U.S. government spies on its own people, often illegally. How's that for authoritarian?
Kimmio - words do not mean whatever it is convenient for you to think they mean.

Yes, I know the British Empire was racist and authoritarian. I never said it wasn't. I was saying that Russians in Russia tend to prefer authoritarian leaders - no racism in that statement. The proof is in the evidence of who they favour politically! It would be racist to say that being __ ethnicity genetically predisposed a person to _ behaviour but that is NOT what I said. And that is not what the Atlantic or NYT said about Russians preferring authoritarianism over democracy either. They believe the former is better for them economically. And we are talking about presently. There is a sociopolitical reason that has nothing to do with their race. That is not racism.

Making a blanket statement about people based on their geographic origins can't be racism Graeme, since different races can come from different locales. Call it geographical discrimination, not racism.

Actually, I guess I meant to say more than one race can come from the same locale.

Kimmio - of course you thought you source described me. You are incapable of seeing fault in yourself.
When it comes to authoritarian, Harper was a gem. And Canadians elected him, and re-elected him. Americans twice elected the very aurthoritarian George Bush Jr. The Britisih elected margaret Thatcher.
Can you name me a society that has never elected an authoritarian leader?

I never voted for Harper, Graeme. Canadians also had enough of him and his veiled but creeping authoritarianism, and voted him out.
