And there was a more concrete lie in there. He lied about the change to the legal drinking age, when it happened, and that he was of legal drinking age during the time period under discussion.

It might end up a court case, but the purpose of the hearings was a job interview. All SCOTUS nominees go through one. Not all have allegations like this against them. Gorsuch didn’t so one can’t say it was just a liberal schemed hit job...or we’d have heard supposedly ”made up” things about him too. I really think alarm bells went off for Ford when she realized that Kavanaugh was about to have one of the highest responsibilities in the land, and she had to say something. True maybe she would not have if he were not about to become SCOTUS, but it carries a different weight - it’s not a self serving job - he would responsible for high level judicial decisions about policy that affect a whole lot of people. But he’s acting like it’s a self serving job - that this is his ultimate power career dream that he’s entitled to. Not a job working in service to all Americans. His entitled attitude seems corrupt as it is.So I understand that there is no statute of limitations in the state of Maryland for criminal sexual offences....this includes rape. So why isn't this a court case rather than a "job interview"? And if these women choose to pursue this further and Kavenaugh becomes SCOTUS, can he still be charged and go to trial, or does he become untouchable after the fact? Does this hold true for Donald Trump also?
And if I hear Donald Trump say once more that he wants this all sewn up as quickly as possible because Kavenaugh's wife and children are suffering, I'm going to puke. This coming from a man that embarrasses his wife on a daily basis every time one of his affairs is brought up. If I were Melania I'd go to Africa on a goodwill tour without Trump.
It's an "old boys club" that sticks together IMO.
Problem is, if Trump drops him, he has just set a new bar that he won't be able to continuously pardon himself with.I read that SCOTUS’s can be impeached. So, if he lied before the committee and that is clarified after his appointment, he can lose his job. It would just be better if Trump dropped him instead, though.
It’s just wishful thinking.Problem is, if Trump drops him, he has just set a new bar that he won't be able to continuously pardon himself with.
Guess I missed something, what did he lie about?
What never ceases to amaze me is that these guys wish to defend themselves, instead of making a simple, proper apology, that would really have defused the entire conversation. It almost feels like a competition of "exactly how much crap will people put up with for the sake of partisan alliance?"
PG-13, I wonder sometimes about the extremism/polarity of your views. You seem to be very tied into that American "Us"/"Them" system, rather than the more nuanced positions sometimes enjoyed by Canadians with three or four different, often valid, platforms from which to select in any one electoral period.
I don't personally think that Dr. Ford is terribly important to the story anymore. The world has seen Kavanagh's petulance, tears, temper and complete inability to calmly analyse evidence on full display; only a blind fool would think that the U.S. couldn't find almost anyone more suitable to be a Supreme Court justice.
I haven't watched the whole thing but I wonder how a man that states he hasn't seen Ford since 2002, witnessed her coaching someone involved with this investigation(2018), to take a polygraph test? What happens when Democrats stall:
A good example of how MSM takes away a person’s ability to process information.I haven't watched the whole thing but I wonder how a man that states he hasn't seen Ford since 2002, witnessed her coaching someone involved with this investigation(2018), to take a polygraph test?
4.54 Pot calling the kettle black. By the way who is this on the video? Just an average person that is entitled to her opinion? I don't have a problem with that, hopefully anyone can speak out..What makes this woman so attractive?
