Has anyone heard of this new advocacy group for Canadian Nationalism taking aim at Canada's immigration policies?

Their ten-point policy blueprint includes:
  • A total moratorium on immigration.
  • Abolishing the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
  • Restricting birthright citizenship.
  • Making Canada less comfortable for immigrants.
  • Revocation of permanent residency.
  • Mass deportations.
  • A voluntary repatriation program.
  • Adjusting and expanding rules for revoking naturalized citizenship.
  • Penalizing institutions that enable mass immigration.
  • Repealing multiculturalism as an official policy.
Quebec, with its distinct immigration system, is seen as a model by the society for resisting mass migration.

Since officially launching, it has begun recruiting members, collecting donations, and is preparing a national outreach campaign involving community volunteers, social media content, posters, flyers, and in-person events.

Media coverage has been regularly critical of remigration proposals, labelling them as xenophobic or racist.

It is a franc icon of power trumping into the little peoples of Canada ... power shall prevail as a means of eliminating itself when aged ... indigenous folk from other places are frighten Ly strange even if they are part of your self! Thus we Lye about them ... mental residue?

bulls**t right there. We don't have birthright citizenship. In fact, few countries outside the US do. At least one parent has to be a Canadian citizen to be eligible for Canadian citizenship regardless of where you are born.

Otherwise, this kind of anti-immigrant crap just make me shake my head. My immigrant wife taught Canadians how search engines work and how to properly use statistics for research (among other things) for 30 years. My immigrant daughter-in-law is going to teach and do research in robotics and AI. Tell me how they are harming Canada.

I consider myself a Canadian nationalist, and our immigration policies and the fact that immigrants are responsible for so much that has succeeded in this country is something I consider a point of pride for Canada. I mean, do they really not want Tobias Lutke, who co-founded Shopify after immigrating from Germany? Or Mike Lazaridis of Blackberry who is of Greek descent and was born in Istanbul, arriving as a child in 1966? Or the myriad immigrants who work with my son in our tech sector? Our culture and economy would absolutely stagnate without immigration.

What f-ing nonsense. Hopefully, the only politicians who take note are the more or less irrelevant Peoples' Party, who already believed most of this crap anyhow.

Of course, one of the problems with groups like this, while they are careful not put it in their literature, is that they are actually generally okay with white, Christian, English-speaking immigrants, preferably from Northern or Central Europe. IOW, they are Nazis at heart. They would likely not even think of you as an immigrant. Even my Ukrainian co-worker would likely get a pass. Other than her rather obvious accent, you can't really tell she's only been in Canada for 3 years (left Ukraine because of the war). White, blonde, speaks pretty good (not fluent but will probably get there) English.

My Chinese wife and South Asian d-i-l on the other hand? Yeah.

The Dominion Society of Canada — a federally registered non-profit was founded by former People’s Party of Canada (PPC) member Daniel Tyrie.

Tyrie, who served as the PPC’s Executive Director for five years, starting after the 2019 federal election, says he parted ways with the party over its unwillingness to fully embrace a nationalist platform.

And I disagree with the idea that to be a nationalist, you have to be anti-immigrant. You can embrace immigration as part of what makes the nation great, so it is a part of my nationalism. Fascists should not be allowed to define what makes one a "nationalist".

And sorry for my oops on birthright. Not sure where I got that from. Hardly matters, I support it. My d-i-l has birthright citizenship in the USA.

Mayor Horwath of Hamilton and Inspector Murphy of the Hamilton Police have taken note.

Are they violating Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms to do so?

In 2019. In Fleming v. Ontario, police arrested a man walking to a rally with a Canadian flag because they thought other people might start a fight. The Court held they had no such power. You do not punish the lawful man to restrain the unlawful one.

The English case behind that rule is Beatty v. Gillbanks from 1882. The Salvation Army marched, there was the threat of a hostile crowd which promised trouble, and the magistrates tried to stop the Army. The court said no. A lawful meeting does not become a crime because someone else might violently object.

Are freedom of conscience, religion, thought, belief, opinion, expression, peaceful assembly, and association special privileges
only for people with government/law enforcement approved opinions?

What kind of state of sole does one have to be in, bottom line, to do something mindlessly against the Golden Rule?

Is mindless a sort of ignorant item of activity or just stupid? Satchmo said if you had no soul you had to ask ... whatever the spelling ...
