Musing about Canada becoming the 51st state of the United States.

This idea, as posed by President Trump, has gained both opposition and support.

The responses vary from intensely emotional with strong nationalistic outrage from those opposed to more pragmatic arguments from supporters who emphasize the economic, military, and political benefits of merging the two countries.

As I see it, the weakness of Canada's federal government is what precipitated this debate.

Canada’s lack of national defense, growing foreign infiltration from China and India and vulnerabilities in Artic sovereignty (Vulnerabilities and Hybrid Threats in the North American Arctic) highlight how exposed Canada is on the global stage.

United we stand divided we fall?

Who ever said ANYONE of our representatives can try to support the idea of Canada as the 51st state to Trump without asking Canadians?
And Trump acquiring Greenland.....was that even part of his election platform?
Seems to me he's not talking about any of his " promises" to the Americans that voted for him.....unusually silent about it.....other than taking over other countries.

Where is the peace we were promised in Ukraine? Where is the price relief for groceries like eggs? All the bulls**t he spewed during the election, and now that he won he's getting power hungry and channeling Putin by trying to annex nearby countries?

Where was this in the election platform?

If Americans march across the border I'll be among the first to sign up to chase them back. These are treasonous conversations, just giving up on Canada and joining the US. We have a handful of Quislings in Canada.

There's not much debate. The vast majority of Canadians don't want Canada to become the 51st state

But yet offshore Canadians support the man that appears to have some thoughts that are out of place! Then if you wish to support the idea of offshore wealth ... ship off all the people that you believe are intelligent ... and chew it over when you find someone was wrong about their opinions posed without deep mullet 'n!

In virtue we really don't know much if that is what we support ... brain drain ... where things we call thought goes by those that believe emotions are best!

Thus thought gets transpose to chit out of luck in the ante 'n up ...

Conclusion: Do not side up with a man that despises thought ... so the myth goes!

I can't respond because I am often told I am stupid by folks claiming to much more enthused than I ... so I must be deranged ... not that other guy!

Imagine being loose on the range in a white suit ...

I am sure that Trump is tempted by the possibility of reducing the cost of seniors by setting them on Canadian ice floats. He also might be envious because we have the 24 hr clock.
I am not sure why he hasn’t floated his suggestions by Prime Minister Tim Hortons yet.

Am so sorry to hear that you've been told such things. Please know that your worth's not defined by others' words. You bring your own unique views to the table.

Channel your energy into embracing who you truly are. Being "loose on the range in a white suit" is a bold image. It represents your individuality.

Remember, you don't have to fit into anyone else's expectations. Keep being true to yourself and letting your light shine ✨

The ACS, which is conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, says the number of people moving from Canada to the U.S. hit 126,340 in 2022. That's an increase of nearly 70 per cent over the 75,752 people who made the move in 2012.

Of the 126,340 who emigrated from Canada to the U.S. that year, 53,311 were born in Canada, 42,595 were Americans who left here for their native land, and 30,434 were foreign-born immigrants to Canada who decided to move to the U.S. instead.

The real estate agents and immigration lawyers who help Canadians make the move say the surge is being driven partly by a desire for a more affordable life.

But there are also people who say they have lost faith in Canada under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's leadership and want to pursue the American dream instead, these agents and lawyers said.

In the 16 months after Biden’s victory through to the end of May 2022, 16,385 Americans became new permanent residents of Canada, an average of 1,024 per month.

An increase of almost a third more Americans immigrated to Canada on a monthly basis during the Biden administration compared to the outflow every month during Trump’s time in the White House.

Moving between the two countries seems to favor Canada to US vs US to Canada over the last few years. People go where they can afford to go. If the border restrictions were lifted who knows how many more Canadians would choose to live on the US side as opposed to Americans choosing to move to the Canadian side.

The "North American Union" may not be happening anytime soon but I think it will eventually - with or with out Trump and Trudeau.

Hey, stop it. You're dreaming. Just about no Canadian wants Canada to join the US

Is the urge for cheaper when taken to an extreme (limit) ... really outline the problem of avarice when observed deeply?

Now if the elite could cut out all labor ... who would carry out the chit we are expected to carry because the elite are too busy scheming, etc. to get move of those materials thus disposing of the alternate (immaterial, thoughts, psyche, etc.) and so it goes ... the intellectual part, I mean!

Does this make room for shallow folk? Thus the concept floats ... adrift on the winds of time as dt's ... on this scale we can differentiate the unknowns as dx's being disseminated (take it as non-destructive testing if it goes on in the abstract side). The absolute, industrial and institutionalized elite are way above this working layer ... sometimes considering it a cesspool ... they cannot descend to go there ... thus high level disposals and prodigal stuff ...

It do fall like Skye and Ciel ... and Malia! Tumbling light? The understanding of this word is doubled ... if you care to research it ...
Malia, a Hawaiian girl's name, means "perhaps" or "probably," but there'll be no maybes about how much you love them. A variant of Maria or Mary, it can also translate to "wished-for child," "beloved," "star of the sea," or "bitterness." It's perfect for paying tribute to any special Marys or Marias in your life.
Then there is the sense of fuzzy Marias as the light fades due to powers of darkness and greed ... extends the comprehension severely if encountered ... image a bitter Mary for alien reason ... and we don't know? It is almost poetic ...how the unknown creeps!

In the time 126,340 people moved to the US, half a million or more moved to Canada. you are clutching at straws again.

I was comparing Canadian PR becoming US PR vs US PR becoming Canadian PR.

In 2022, the following 10 countries were Canada’s top immigration sources according to each immigrant’s country of citizenship. Each country will be listed alongside the number of immigrants that came from that country and the percent of Canada’s total PR number accounted for by that country.
  1. India (118, 095 immigrants) – 27%
  2. China (31,815 immigrants) - 7.2%
  3. Afghanistan (23,735 immigrants) – 5.4%
  4. Nigeria (22,085 immigrants) – 5.05%
  5. Philippines (22,070 immigrants) – 5.04%
  6. France (14,145 immigrants) – 3.2%
  7. Pakistan (11,585 immigrants) – 2.6%
  8. Iran (11,105 immigrants) – 2.5%
  9. United States of America (10,400 immigrants) – 2.3%
  10. Syria (8,500 immigrants) – 1.9%
