Thus the shaft or standing upright in the story of mist & ET ixs ... way beyond mortal authority ...

The mysterious context of a far greater psyche as abstract and out there? Thus some attempt to expand their intellect while others stoically fixed ... caned out?

We know that Moses followed God's instructions and struck a rock with his staff and water poured out ----so the staff is a sign of God's power -----

To go back to my earlier comments, a la Malcolm Gladwell, does it make a difference to the story if David was simply more skilled at killing than Goliath?

Goliath is infantry. Solid, large, muscular, with big bones and big weapons. (The tank)

David is the sharpshooter, the trained assassin, one with an unerring eye for the weakness (the forehead bone, in this case) of his prey. (The armed drone)

This person did not read the scripture properly ----the scripture verse in 2 Samuel which he forgets to post --by the way -----says that this man killed the brother of Goliath ---not Goliath himself -----

I posted the scripture in 2 Samuel verse in my first post --as this was already brought up by Redbaron on page 1 ----reposting it here to clear up what this article says ---

2 Samuel 21:19 -----clearly says -----that Elhanan killed Goliath's Brother ------not Goliath

19 In another battle with the Philistines at Gob, Elhanan son of Jair the Bethlehemite killed the brother of Goliath the Gittite, who had a spear with a shaft like a weaver’s rod.

So can you really trust what the article says is the question -------This certainly blows a hole in the theory that David didn't really defeat Goliath ------Just saying ---

I say ---well I don't doubt this is true -----the scripture does indicate that he took his staff which would have been his Shepard's staff that he used when he was Sheparding his sheep ---

if it was a medieval weapon he would have probably had to get it from someone but he refused all armour etc to protect himself -----so I doubt it was a worrier's weapon -------

there is another view that it could have been a Staff Sling ------which apparently is mentioned in the Michelangelo's sculptures ---whatever they are ------I didn't bother to look at that up ----

And just a note -----from what i have read many Shepards carried sling shots as they used them to ward off animals that would come after their sheep ---

My view -----so it sounds like after a time they would get good at using this weapon as it was most likely used often ------So David would have been skilled at using his sling ------
