Did you know that September is Ovarian cancer month? What do you know about ovarian cancer?

Did you know ovarian cancer is often not detected until it's very late stage? Because it has symptoms that impact the bowels many women get investigated for bowel concerns and told they have something like irritable bowel syndrome. Many women feel their doctors don't take them seriously when they come with symptoms that are ultimately related to ovarian cancer.

I've known women who have had ovarian cancer so I'm liking it as a sign of support.

How did they do?

I'm thankful to have met one woman who was allegedly on death's door five years ago. She kept living until just before Christmas.

It's worth mentioning that the rate of ovarian cancer has substantially increased in younger females in recent years. If you have a daughter or granddaughter in her 20s, 30s and 40s, it's worth mentioning the signs. 1 in 10 ovarian cancers are in women under 45. Younger women with the most common type of ovarian cancer do better in the long run than older women with the same diagnosis.
