Because no one is an island, as they say? Sooner or later, you'll likely need some uplifting yourself? I mean, you do you, but actually engaging with other people in a positive way outside of work can have its benefits.

Its a point of rotation ... revelation on the spot?

Humility is actually impossible for humans. If you make your objective humility and do well at it, then you will be proud of your success. Thus rendering you not humble.

There it is... humiliated and gone in the vision of those up there ... there's an image formed in a P Cornwall novel on dissociative personality disorders that covers this ... a shot gun shell found up the victims following orphise ... it was a complex image ... facets occurred ... scattered beam 'eres! Flash????

That's a leading question. I believe in the ethics of reciprocity. I still adhere to these ethics when it comes to written communication, though I don’t have much patience for foolishness. Nevertheless, I maintain a level of civility.
We can choose to have our actions shaped by others or we can choose to act the way we want to behave. My choice to be kind reflects my belief that I am strong enough to offer kindness in the face of rude behaviour. I am strong enough to dare to be vulnerable. There are some others in this forum who I see as having similar strength. I worry much less about being exploited and more about missed opportunities to help someone else.

Ethics used in some ways is more like accounting than it is about being fully human.

Sorry, I doubt that's possible. There is no such thing as a selfless acts. Any form of personal satisfaction undermines true altruism. In the words of Dickens. "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known." from a tale of two cities, Carton got pleasure out of the fact he saved Darnay.

Agreed kindness is good. However, we all get something from doing it. Therefore there’s always some form of reciprocity involved.
I also do not believe in selfless acts. Most acts are done to fill a need. My needs including testing my capacity to give of myself (part of my perpetual quest for knowledge) and believing I am making a good difference in the world. I also have a strong need to feel autonomous, to feel in control of my actions, to not let others control my actions.

Did Jesus extend that kindness to the moneychangers in front of the temple of Jerusalem?
His kindness was for the worshippers being cheated by the money changers first, but also in encouraging tbe money changers to reflect on what they were doing.

Cojoined functions ???

I took a bioethics course once in which the instructor leaned towards emotional topics rather than intellectual enlightenment of a mysterious subject ... we could not figure why he eliminated half of the material based on D Goleman's texts ...it appeared like demi course ... split terminals? Therein a plug for the solution ... shocking or was his brain cracked and coquetted by his desires ? The flirt was evident ....
