In Ontario, an evangelical Christian college is trying to become a university; yet with un-university-like stances such as, belief in climate change amounts to earth worship. Should such as this be allowed?

I have mixed feelings on that. As far as I am concerned, if their point of view affects their teachings, they should not be allowed to be a university, but they should neither be allowed to be a college, a high school or an elementary school. On the other hand, if they find a way around that, let's say by teaching only literature (i.e. no global warming in that) or religion, then they could teach.

Sounds to me like it should be a bible college and nothing more. Certainly not a general university. What worries more than their status is the connection to Ford and whether that influenced the decision to move on it before the Post-Secondary Education Quality Assessment Board ruled, and the decision to bury it in an otherwise unrelated omnibus bill. Sounds like the kind of shenanigans Conservatives often accuse the Liberals of.

I knew a High School biology teacher - a very fundy Christian -who refused to teach evolution. Also had his own kids home schooled.

Well with Climate change are humans not bowing to make this earth a better place --you are in fact putting the earth first before God -----therefore you are in fact worshipping the earth -----

The earth that we humans didn't make -----God made it -----the earth that no human can save ---The present earth that God will destroy on His terms and time not humans terms and time ----

I say -----Humans Claiming Climate Change are in fact worshipping the earth over God ------

Psalms 24:1
Study Bible
The Earth is the LORD's
1A Psalm of David.
The earth is the LORD’s,
and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein. 2For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters.…

I say ----We humans who think we can save what God has said He will destroy are greatly deceived by the god of this world ----Mr Satan himself ----

unsafe, we get that this is your theology. But should a publicly funded university, which is allowed to offer any number of subjects, including science, be allowed to be accredited, when its "science" is "unscientific"? I've got no problem with it existing; but when I want a B.Sc. in Biology, I want my education to be scientifically, not theologically, based.

It can stay as a Bible College. I just think it's completely ridiculous to grant it general degree-granting status equivalent to other public universities.

And if PEQAB lets it through, I will be one surprised person; I've dealt with those folk; they're fine-toothed-comb people.

So if I try to help you become a better person, I'm worshiping you instead of God?

Does that sound as freaking ridiculous to you as it does to me?

Besides, the point is about the school's status, not about your personal theology.

hall of fame game missed the point GIF

Well you can quote Psalms to prove your point or I could quote Genesis to say we are to be stewards of the earth.

Waterfall -----you said ----I could quote Genesis to say we are to be stewards of the earth.

I say ----and you would be right ---we were given stewardship over the earth only --we don't own it and we didn't create it ---it was given on loan to us to treat it rightly which we didn't do ---but we humans can't save what God wants destroyed ---and ---we have no jurisdiction over the 1st heaven -----nor the climate ----that is in God's hands not humans ----

The evangelical Christian college -----is saying that climate change is earth worship ------and I definitely agree with that statement ----

I say-- also if this evangelical Christian college wants to be a university and it fits the criteria for such a move then so be it -----

I say-- also if this evangelical Christian college wants to be a university and it fits the criteria for such a move then so be it -----

That's the point. IT DOESN'T FIT THE CRITERIA.
And the Christian college in question and your opinions notwithstanding, trying to deal with climate change is NOT earth worship.

Read and ponder Post # 5 again.

Galileo's observations contradicted the Aristotelian view of the universe, then widely accepted by both scientists and theologians.

Right. But we are in that case talking new information overtaking old information. The progression of ideas. This is a regressive education option.

Regressive as in the concept of seven generations planning, that the impact of decisions should be considered out seven generations into the future (about 150 years). What is the scientific consensus around getting a Science Degree based on those principles.

Does evolution suggest cultivating of the collective, social psyche? When God "the word" stated: "teach my children" did that icon mean to make them dead to altered egos ... beyond the normal body of thought?

Alter ego ... another awareness or revelation! The great awakening when the dead in this world rise to the essence of challenge of a God of wisdom ... those taking advantage of naivete will argue differently you can bet ... like a gambler on a train! He'll suck up everything before the wreck ... where it all comes down!
