Novel Coronavirus

I think we're all pretty f***ed and won't have the power, the information, or even the motivation, to look back on anything, if we give it all up now.

I think people moved my posts because they're too scared to think about that.

And yes, we need a vaccine.

I have had my first “brush” with Covid. Sort of

a guy we have golfed with the last two weekends, always distancing, found out after our second game that one of his staff tested positive. He had minimal interaction with the person the Friday before our first golf game

so now , he is waiting to see if public health want him tested, not sure why they wouldn’t and we are wondering what that test will show and hubby with cancer is nervous. Hadn’t wanted to see this guy but it’s his best friend. .........

and so now we wait, for him to be tested. No symptoms but I want him tested so we know we are safe

back to ordering groceries on line till we know

Where is your friend @Lastpointe ? I thought most provinces now have wide enough testing parameters to include him. I would have thought he'd be tested with no question.

The closest it came to us so far was my brother's family getting it but that was fairly early in the game and we hadn't seen them since Christmas. I haven't actually had any known exposures yet, but I'm also letting Mrs. M (at her insistence) do most of the shopping. I've just done the odd curbside pickup and gas run.

It does f***ing belong here! That's why I followed with the article about Greta and the politician suggesting now is the perfect time to build pipelines because large groups of protestors can't gather. I was skeptical about that from the beginning. And as Greta said, much of the world operates this way...opportunistic people in power. It's not a conspiracy theory it's a fact we need to face and change.

A post does not automatically belong in here because it mentions Covid. Though I have pointed out to Northwind that Extinction Rebellion would have been more appropriate than conspiracy theories, IMHO. However, I do not make a practice of overriding mod calls. She or another mod can move it again if they agree with me.

Lives in Toronto. That is what is so odd to me. And oddly our friends seems to want to wait until public health contact tracer tells him to get tested. I would just go. I don’t actually understand it. Perhaps he is afraid?

That's one reason I didn't move it.

I won't be participating in non-covid discussion here anymore.

Mendalla you mention not knowing people With covid

that for me is one of the funny things. Our weekly family zoom meeting, which I am really getting tired of as nothing new ever happens, some one asked if anyone knew anyone with it. None of us. I mean between us, in Toronto, London and Ottawa we know thousands of people. And we don’t know anyone. Well now I maybe know someone who maybe was in contact.......

2 posts have been moved from this thread to the Extinction Rebellion thread, where they seem to fit more naturally.

No they don't necessarily, Redbaron. The impact covid is having on other issues is still about covid. Suggesting that it might not be a good idea to surrender all of our agency to the covid experts and indefinite covid quarantines is still about covid.

Yes they did. The mere fact that the disease is being used as an excuse does not mean it has to do with this thread.

This thread is about all things related to covid. It's the perfect place to talk about it because people who may not pay attention to extinction rebellion specifically should know that their politicians are (and can elsewhere too) manipulating them opportunistically because of covid.

The article in question dealt more with the pipeline than the virus.
It's a negative impact to the world in the name of the virus. It should be written about in the context of covid because covid leaves us as sitting ducks to power grabs. It's more than a biological issue.

So, I guess I agree with Pinga...it's also political.

That's the protocol now in Ontario. If you think you've been exposed, get assessed and tested. I know the local assessment centres said they'd had their biggest day yesterday.
