Conversations with some Christians remind me of why the monotheistic religions have a problem with Christianity's claim to monotheism.
BetteTheRed ------ your quote -----Conversations with some Christians remind me of why the monotheistic religions have a problem with Christianity's claim to monotheism
According to this list Christianity is listed as being one of the monotheistic religions ---so what makes you say that that -----the monotheistic religions have a problem with Christianity's claim to monotheism ----
Monotheistic religions
What do all monotheistic religions have in common?
- Bahá'í
- Christianity.
- Messianic Judaism.
- Islam.
- Jehovah's Witnesses.
- Judaism.
- Rastafari movement.
- Sikhism.
unsafe, Monotheist means "one god". The problem that a lot of Muslims and a lot of Jews have with Christianity's claim to monotheism is that they see more than one. They see the Trinity concept as non-monotheistic. Throw in the distinctly "alt-god-like" character of Satan, and then add in a dash of airclean and his seven-part god, and you can see where the difficulties might arise in interfaith dialogue.
Hi BetteTheRed---It is hardly fair to ask Unsafe what I believe . I believe the Spirit world," works different than our earthy world." One I believe in the Spiritual world, we are a part of GOD", Or we don't exist . We become a part of GOD. The Book of JOHN said this in vers 1:-12-13. We are transformed into a part of GOD". There is only one GOD ."He Is the LORD Thy GOD". Now as far as The Muslims belief goes , I don't believe there a part of GODS Plan. First they hate Israel an want to kill them. Read on what GOD said about those who hate Israel , and take it into your Church. I Believe Israel is GODS plan. It is though this Abraham received the promise from GOD". It is through Israel the Promise of Christ" came. The one we follow as Jesus The Christ. The Muslims use the sign of Baal, on the church. The temples of Baal had it over there doors". Here is a Pictor of witch craft , Note the Should it is the sign of Baal. The same sign that is over the Muslim church's.unsafe, Monotheist means "one god". you are partially correct , the reason a lot of Muslims & Jews see the Trinity concept as non-monotheistic is because it suits there bias religious purpose, why do I say that? well because the one book we all do share and believe, The Old Testament , God Clearly states that other Gods exist, so they too believe that there are other gods, so the satan character is a moot point.
The reason Christians believe in the concept of the Trinity clearly rests solely on the Resurrection

Wait a second, are you clearly identifying that you believe that there are "other gods"? Do you understand the concept of monotheism?
yes I do understand the concept of monotheism, here is what the OT says that all 3 Abrahamic religions share :
Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
there are 10 other passages where God speaks regarding "other gods"
notice the capital "G" for the Creator who is One (monotheism) and small "g" for other non creator gods , these "other gods " like satan, are further explained as "powers and principalities".
But there is One monotheistic God who is best knowing by His Name: YHWH
