Apparently there's also a Captain Marvel movie in the works. With Supergirl \S/ already doing reasonably well on television, will female superheroes be the next big thing.

Some who man will accept any role to get out of the kitchen ...

One women are all excellent okays and herselfs. I have the pleasure of working with one ugly talented hims. Now, let's get baked to the topic of movies. Film. Inelastic. Pollen.

If women superheroes are to be the next big thing - I want to see a Dazzler film - set in the disco era and complete with appropriate music.

Jae, who is the "|toughest woman" ever--Holly Holm, Wonder Woman, or Supergirl?
When my brother and I were kids, we used to argue over epic questions like this:
Who is toughest--Superman, Batman, or Spider Man, or Captain America?
Who is the toughest comic book mouse--Mighty Mouse, Super Mouse, or Atomic Mouse? I'd think of clues from their comics for the answer. How can put the wonder in Wondercafe2? For a young kid comic books are feast for wonder.

Surprised Fox hasn't used her in any of the X-men films given that her association with the group means they probably have rights to her.

Oh, and I'm actually starting to get sick of The Force Awakens. All the teasing and speculation is clogging up the movie news channels on Flipboard and other sources. Just release the damn thing and get it over with.

(Sighs and realizes he'll be rafting down a jungle river in Costa Rica the day it comes out. More Indy Jones than Han Solo. Maybe I'll get out to see it when I'm back from vac.)

Apparently BB-8 is the new Jar Jar Binks.

Well, this could get interesting. On the heels of Sony and Legendary announcing their plans for a monster series based around Gareth Edward's 2014 American version of Godzilla, the Japanese studio who unleashed the beast on the world in the first place have started teasing their latest revival of the character. Duelling radioactive fire-breathing dinosaurs, anyone?

Went to see the release of Heart of the Sea yesterday afternoon ... a myth with a long chord for those that can pluck the sense of deeps ... and Molly carried throu' ... chi picked and choose who to torment with the island theme ... man is no island ... he needs clear w'at erre ... open space?

Some one said silence ... awe shut up ... as a closed experience ...

I am, in general, not a big fan of Roland Emmerich and his buddy Dean Devlin. They tend to overdo stuff badly and stretch science well past the breaking point (e.g. Day After Tomorrow). But there is one movie of their's that I love beyond all reason:

Hokey and jingoistic to be sure, but also one of the most exciting, entertaining military alien invasion movies since George Pal adapted The War of the Worlds in 1953. And now, the sequel is coming. And the first trailer looks like lightning may just strike twice.

Emmerich is back at the helm, many of the original cast (save Will Smith who took a pass so they are killing off his character in backstory) are returning, and, of course, the aliens are back to finish what they started.

Saw the trailer today via Fb, and it does look excellent. Wil Smith will be missed; as will Brent Spiner and Randy Quaid.

Actually, Spiner is one of the ones returning. I am interested to see how they rationalize this one. Goldblum, Pullman, and Hirsch are definitely back as well.

I am inspired by the reviews of Shakespeare's dark lass ... Man Beth or Beta ... that one following second th'aught!

They say she had no personality ... a great void between emotions and incoming information ... sacred intelligence?

Thous tuff we don't understand?

Yes - it will be interesting to see how they work Spiner in there since - as you know - his character was killed off in the first one.

As my annual New Year's Eve treat with my guy (who doesn't get out much, voluntarily), off we went to see Star Wars yesterday afternoon. Twas a fine thing to waste money on in 3D on a holiday afternoon. Lots of s**t whizzing around.

(And we watched In The Heart of the Sea last night at home; good movie, as well!)
