Hello fellow convivial sentients,
The medialandscape is SOOOOOO busy like a busy bee at a Busy Convention
It can b difficult to wade through all the sturm n drang n bright shinies
This thread is for us to yakk aboot various tools and techniques we have learned that can help us through this crazy media (legacy and otherwise)
I'll start with a wonderful lil app that lets you input a url for a story. Then it scours the web for other media instances of that story. I find it helpful in finding out the left-right bias of a story...some stories are " invisible "to some news outlets. Also I find it amusing to see the same story and see how different outlets write it out (including headlines which I see as a kind of precis poem on their angle)

As an example of media bias, the legacy media in USA right now seems 2 me 2 b promoting race war.
Then I can check stats. Some 85% of Americans do not want police to be defunded. 81% of American blacks want the same amount or more policing in their areas.
So that means t'me that these media beating these drums are representing a minority...say the 8% that are Progressive Activists...
Whichh is a danger--the media is supposed to help us make accurate and helpful decisions. It is necessary for a functioning and healthy country. Sense making.
Another habit I have learned is I intentionally go out to read or experience something that isn't part of my home Belief Systems. Like I will explore something like Rebel News or for one year I explored guns. That has helped me with cognitive empathy, keeps me mentally limber. Belief spelunking! Humanity in all its diversity. A-woman.
