I could get behind that. Calgary is driving distance from mountains. That alone puts it in my good books.Besides...Calgary is far superior

Papers arrived at 9:30 AM...Telus tech (very good looking!) showed up at 10:35 AM - this is not going to be an easy fix as everything in my house and the box outside is working but I definitely don't have working landline right now. Tech is off to check something else.

Neither do I and I am grateful for that. I did not want to get a cell phone but for now it is working to block the scamspam calls that were the main reason I cancelled the landline in the first place. I did not want to lose the number all together though as a lot of people that I do wish to stay in contact with have only that number as their Last reference.

My son has never had a landline. Signed up for Videotron's cell service when he moved to Ottawa and that's been his phone number ever since. We rarely call him ourselves. Just text him to set up Zoom calls.
Our "landline" has been an Internet line for probably over a decade or more so I have not had a true landline for a long time. The phone wiring in my house has not been used in years since my Internet is cable. I keep wondering if I should just port our home number to a SIM card or port it somewhere where I can put it on permanent forward to our cell phones. The problem is, my wife hates using her cell phone and only turns it on when she is out and about and might need to reach me or someone else. So we have to keep the home phone service for her at the moment.

Telus: there was a problem with my connection at the Telus building in town. My wires were connected properly in the box in the alley behind my house but what they were connected to needed replaced. Everything should be working now and keep working (fingers crossed)
The tech finished just before noon so that still gave me time to head out and do the paper deliveries Part 1 - which went well till I got back to Mirror. Parked beside the grocery store - in and right back out - saw my truck rolling down the street and before I could even attempt to catch it, it slammed into one of the County shop doors.
Damaged the shop door and really damaged the back of the truck Phoned the County when I got home - thankfully their first question was to ask if I was okay. Just talked to the RCMP and he said my story matches the video footage (it should!) I'm to meet with the RCMP tomorrow afternoon after I finish the rest of the deliveries.
After I phoned the County to let them know, I received a very lovely phone call from a gal who is performing in Red Deer to thank me for promoting her show, and for doing my bit to "save the world' through the paper. I think I need saved now!
