I like the support local idea. I needed new tires on the truck and the cheapest thing would be to go to Costco, but I went with a local place where I could get an appointment the next day and knew they would do a good job. The extra cost was about $100 on a $1500 bill. And now I have a local company that will take care of me if I have tire problems.

I tried to buy a tire made in Canada, but the size I needed is made in the US. Other sizes are made in Canada at least.
The attempt to deal with tyres can really wear a good person down unless you are a fan of the trump card and wish to by only southern American like in the US ah? Wearing goes around freely ...

I should be opening the yard sale for the season as the weather is so lovely...however, I don't really feel like it today. :P

Put the cat out tonight? Owl ORd what now ... more ignore functions so we don't know ... whatever!

So much to learn and so little time due to Mort's bindings ... is mort a myth or biblical? Is there a literal difference?

2-ingredient pancakes...I used to make these with banana when Niece was a pre-schooler...decided to try today with applesauce.

We use a local tyre shop. The tyres are a wee bit more expensive but the installation is free. Also free changover from winter to summer tyres.
That's the flip side. I used to think I had a tire shop, and they were cheap, too. But the moment I had a problem due to their installation, they ran away from the problem. I started to see why you don't go with the cheapest option, even local.

You do have to trust who you go to. I only use the one here in town for emergencies (ie I can't leave town because of tire issues). Otherwise I go to the community 15 mins away for my regular needs and servicing - which is still "technically" local as it's not going to the larger city.
