Sometimes it almost seems like a waste of time to care for a garden! At least the veggies look pretty. My DIL is a keen gardener and usually shares generously with us. This year her produce is very sparse. She showed me some potatoes she had recently dug - planning to give them to us. The wee things only managed to attain the size of baby spuds. The biggest was the size of a baseball.My entire (golden) beet and carrot harvest this year - VERY small! I also have 2 (?) cookie sheets of carrot tops to dry

It sure does - we had mega grasshoppers this year so anything from the garden was a bonus. haha, Luce, megA graSshoppers? sounds quiTe the adventure! We do need a "Sensa" flag for those moments when things just roll away like marbles! You just must go with the flow.
