Niece here at 8 AM. We fixed the fence around the raspberries, toured the garden and identified everything I planted (that’s growing), picked rhubarb, chickweed, herbs, cherry tomatoes, and a handful of strawberries…prepared the rhubarb for juice…made a salad with the chickweed, carrots, cherry to tomatoes, sunflower seeds and grated cheese…made the last of the carrots in the fridge into a salad and into carrot noodles…made grapefruit juice from some grapefruit that needed used…made orange mango pineapple popcicles…mixed Borax/icing sugar to go on the anthills...watched a movie…she played with the Barbies for a bit…we played Clue - I won 1 of the 6 (?) games. And we talked lots :) Great day :) I drove her home (she'd biked over) as over 90F!...only hiccup to the day - aside from the heat - was that we couldn't find an ice cube tray! Mom used to have 6 and I know I said I didn't need that many but I'm SURE I kept as least one!

Sounds like a lovely day!

Currently 96F and tomorrow is to be hotter, and next week even HOTTER! I decided that it is easier to deliver papers in extreme windchill than extreme heat because you can always add another layer against the cold, but there is a limit to the layers you can remove in the heat

Yeah, once you're encroaching on decency laws, there's not much more you can do.

Found a lovely 'dress' in a collection from sister yesterday that does pretty well in extreme heat. Light weight, but nicely opaque due to (beautiful) pattern, organic cotton, basically a lightly shaped hemmed square with a rounded neck that works like a hospital gown. Tied back then front, you get a soft ruched effect in the front, in the back, it's a bit more shape accentuating. Ties fall just below waist.

Said that it could burn the skin right of a mule ... like a bad heat in the dark ... something else! However ... it did start something ...

Ugh on the burn. I have actually done fairly well at avoiding that this summer and I'm rather prone to it as a fair-skinned person of Northern European descent.

I wasn't able to avoid as I was driving with the sun on the driver's side for the majority of the trip both days :P
