My neighbourhood reeked of smoke last night. Never found out the source but probably someone with an outdoor fireplace burning yard waste or something. Reminded me how lucky I am to not be near any wildfires. Vibes to those who are.

Awfully strong to be from that far. We've had smoke from both Quebec and Out West before and it never smelled this strongly. I opened the kitchen door to retrieve something when I was closing up last night and it was like I was downwind of a fire close by. The guy behind me used to have outdoor fires (in one of those outdoor fireplace things) but that's usually later in the season. And if the wind is right, some people still have wood fireplaces in our area, though most are gas like ours.
 
The papers were supposed to be dropped off over half an hour ago...no sign of the driver so phoned...my papers have gone missing and not a good week for that as long weekend so I don't have as much flexibility to get them delivered...I'm waiting for callbacks to tell me where they are and how they are getting them to me
 
Big "EEK!!" there. That's ... not good. I'd be giving someone an earful. I have a shipment of tea that's supposed to arrive today (birthday present from my son, or at least the gift card I used to pay for it was). David's says it shipped but Canada Post's status this morning said it still had not been picked up. That said, it wouldn't be the first time CP's tracking sucked. Scan your damn barcodes, people.

So true re Canada Post and they seem to be getting worse!

Papers were found! They were in Red Deer so not sure how the driver missed them when he loaded up the others - phoned him back to tell him and he still can't figure out where they could have been as he did look (but then figured he had the wrong week)...he is supposed to ask if he can't find them so reminded him and told him to ask even if he does think it's the wrong week. Red Deer is looking for someone to drop them off to me - this afternoon would have been ideal but the gal has an important meeting she can't get out of, so I'm to anticipate delivery tomorrow around 9 AM.
