Yes, unneeded memberships are the same category...and I'm sure I'll feel lighter and happier - after the initial grief of a lost dream/hope passesThe decluttering gurus talk about keeping stuff around for our future fantasy selves. It can be quite liberating to let it go. I imagine paying for an unneeded membership falls in the same category.
My example is thinking I would learn to play chess some day. I had a big clunky chessboard that was always in the way. I finally decided I will probably never play chess so off it went to donation. Felt good.
Very understandableYes, unneeded memberships are the same category...and I'm sure I'll feel lighter and happier - after the initial grief of a lost dream/hope passes
On the other hand, I did cancel one magazine subscription and my Marco Polo app subscription this week that did feel goodVery understandable![]()
We won't talk about how much I still have to deal with in this house (now 3.5 yrs after mom passed)We've kept our subscriptions pretty minimal. Electronic-only sub to the Globe & Mail, The Economist (both paper and electronic), Scientific American (ditto), Discover (ditto). The only stuff we really probably need to deal with is stored in the basement and that's mostly furniture that could be sold on Kijiji or maybe used by Little M and partner if they ever get bigger quarters (their current apartment is fairly small).
Actually, some of what we have is from Dad. He had stuff stored here since he was in an apartment. We won't talk about how much I still have to deal with in this house (now 3.5 yrs after mom passed)
