Sadly, the orientation of my street means I don't see sunrises at home. I do see sunsets, or did before they started building high-rises West of me. Still see more of the sunset than the sunrise, though. The trick, of course, to seeing either well is to drive North to Grand Bend (takes 45 min. to an hour from my place). The beach at the Pinery has great views of both.
 
I rarely see a sunset as there are zero windows on the west side of this house...only way I can see one is to go outside

I can't even see sunrises outside. Suburban neighborhood full of two story homes that make a better door than a window, as me pappy used to say.:)

truthfully I have to walk to the end of block to see a sunset as the neighbour behind me has too many trees to see anything
 
Yes, according to my farm family-type friends, the sap is flowing well, and the boiling down has begun. Also, I must research why we don't produce more birch syrup. Plenty of birches around...
 
Birch sap is much less concentrated than the sap of maple trees, I believe. By volume it produces less syrup.
