LAST after spending all day in bed yesterday and today we're under an extreme cold warning and I'm supposed to be delivering papers

Survived deliveries part 1...before I left I finished reading Tolkien's "Tales from the Perilous Realm" which included Roverandom, Farmer Giles of Ham, Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Smith of Wootton Major, and Leaf by Niggle

That must be a new collection of them. I've read a couple of those but I think they were packaged up in a couple different volumes back then (70s-80s).

"Leaf by Niggle" is one of my favourite stories, and Tom Bombadil one of my favourite characters, very sadly left out of the latest film epic.

LAST while watching the weather change from rain to snow outside. Promises to get messy out there.

I'm not entirely surprised. It's a bit of an aside, really. Entertaining, but not really core to the story so easy to leave on the cutting room floor if necessary. Then again, this is Peter Jackson we are talking about, who pulled stuff out of appendices and footnotes so he could get a trilogy out of The Hobbit. I'm surprised he didn't devote a whole hour to the Tom Bombadil incident.
