Boy London has grown since we were last here. I dropped off my father's book to his former co-worker's widow and had a nice visit with her. Since she lives near where I grew up, we went to see my old street. The house looks good. Because we did that, we took a different route than we would have to get to our next spot. We were delighted to see the local souvlaki place. Lunch was delicious!!!! Sammy still has it. I've put a hat I knit in the mail for a friend who is getting chemo. And we continue on with one of our last days here.

Sammy still has it.
Yum, yum. "Sammy" (it's basically a nickname, he has a long, hard-to-pronounce Greek name) himself had a close shave a couple years ago. A couple guys assaulted him one evening back in 2015. He survived but it was a big news story here for a while.

Wow. Who would attack him? That's very bad manners.

We were so glad his souvlaki was as we remembered. Mykonos was a let down. Not as good as before and not as good as the Greek restaurant in Nanaimo.

I think I've been to Mykonos with my godfather. Probably 7-8 years ago. It was pretty good then. We have a little local cafe, run by a lovely Greek man named Fil. His menu is mainly "diner/family restaurant", but he does awesome souvlaki, and a Greek omelette that is lovely. I'm sure there's a Greek Restaurant in Barrie, but apparently haven't been there...

Blue sky and no smoky haze this morning! I was able to be out 2.5 hours in the garden - put 4 more log slices down, added newspaper to part of the path that needed fixed, pulled all the rhubarb, pulled weeds for an hour and heaped the ice cream pail 3x...now to rest for a bit in LAST

Really humid here. Had fog early in the morning and I got seriously sweaty just bundling yard waste for a pickup this week.

I shouldn't admit this, but when I saw the puzzle, my first instinct was to look for a bottle of Coke.

I read in the daily paper LAST night that a gallery in Red Deer is putting out a call for artists - and it's open to beginners...so (deep breath) I'm thinking of submitting a proposal
