It's a lovely day on the road. We got an early start so we could some road behind us before it gets hot. The canola fields are bright yellow. The flax is starting to turn blue. Wheat or hat (not sure which) is another gold. There are green fields and blue skies. Thankfully Manitoba has repaired some of its roads. These are much better than yesterday's roads.

Can't remember the LAST time I saw a field of flax blooming...so lovely.

The flax isn't in full bloom yet. It's close. We did this trip in August 2009. We saw what looked like small lakes in the fields. We came to realize they were fields of something. A farmer friend told us they were flax. Beautiful.

It is beautiful...my grandpa used to grow flax.
Today's plan is to finish and send the paper.

Alas we won't be able to connect with @crazyheart this trip. Next year we'll have to stop at a campsite in her town so we can have a proper visit.
