This has been a really weird year and growing season, but it's actually worked out really well for me as I have been able to keep on top of picking/preserving the harvest without it all happening at once.

Looks like I'm possibly going to get a lot more apples - I've been picking apples off my lawn from my neighbour's tree and they said today any branch over the fence is mine to pick (I planned on that anyway if they didn't pick them first) - so I'll be picking apples in the morning

LAST on this Labor Day morning. We have had beautiful weather and milder temperatures the last few days. So nice for the far end of summer!

Heat warning continues, no rain in sight for the next 2 weeks, and now wildfire smoke is moving in. All in all, we had a pretty good July and August, though, I'm not sure what September will bring!

Telus phoned and left a message while I was on another call - it was the gal who I spoke to on the 13th and asked to cancel the TV (points to her for phoning back though WELL after the 24 hrs) - she could NOT get the override to cancel because she's not authorized to do so, and I have to go to a different department in Telus to get the TV cancelled (one would think that when you ask to cancel a service - which I did the LAST phone call, I'd be taken to the correct department!?)...she gave the name of the department but with her accent I wasn't able to figure it out so will have to listen to the message again (though, I will probably just have phone Telus and ask for cancellations again anyway).

I'm told the drive is to make complex life simple ... the administration doesn't seem to be doing well ... like another corporation here perhaps they'll just declare bankruptcy of process ... no healing of anything much!

Nothing simple about this gong show! Listened to the message again. It seems because I'm in the "copper" tier (Telus revamped their whole reward structure earlier this year), my TV service CANNOT be cancelled. (SAY WHAT?!!?) so I'm to phone and speak to someone in the "copper" rewards department. Grrrr

Okay, more bizarre as on my account I'm in the platinum tier! Got through the automated system even faster than last time and right to a service rep! on hold as he said he"ll speak to someone and get it cancelled right away. I should not be charged for this billing cycle as the cancellation shows on the 13th. Sigh......

This guy has been the best so far because he didn't say that! Gave me a reference ID number, said the request will be expedited in the next few hours because this has gone on too long, the override ticket was requested incorrectly so that's what caused the error, my account is a copper line (ie my landline) so I'm grandfathered in for something because of that but it did mess up the request (I don't see how), and there were 3 different steps for the cancellation request that were not followed which also created the error. I should get my TV portion of the LAST payment back because I paid before the cancellation fully went through. And he said as it WILL be resolved today, I will not have to phone again. Fingers crossed!

Sounds like a veritable s***show, eh. People missing steps makes quality managers cranky so I would love to be a fly on the wall next quality audit there.

Do they even have quality audits anymore?
Depends on your industry, I guess. In healthcare, they're pretty much mandatory but not sure about telcos. If they want to boast that they are "ISO certified" or whatever, they would have to be doing them.
