I should make you guess...it's a lilac
That would have been my first guess. ;) Our bush lilacs are done but we also have Ivory Silk tree lilacs and they are just forming flower bracts now so should be out this month. They bloom later than the bushes.

You have captured the lilac color very nicely @BethAnne
I love dark purple lilacs but they are beautiful in all shades.

And before I forget. LAST
Thanks...we used to have a very dark lilac till the neighbour put Roundup along the fence line and killed most of our trees :P I have a pale lavender one out back...my dwarf ones in the front - which are also late bloomers and seem to LAST longer than regular lilacs - are a purple-pink colour :)

We have a dark purple one that is quite large, a paler one that had to be cut back and has not recovered enough to bloom again, and the Ivory Silks, which are white.

The ones living next door now have white and lavender lilacs and the ones on the other side of me have one white lilac...I'd like more in the back (?) as mine is a VERY slow growing one...and I love the scent of lilacs (plus the petals are edible)

And while the dwarf lilacs may LAST longer on the bush, they don't LAST at all if you cut them and bring them inside for a bouquet
