Taking care of newborns for a while ... days, weeks, months ... while the parents get things sorted out for themselves. Not quite foster care as we know it here - parents don't have to relinquish their rights. Seems to be a very special gift.
This story is in the US - I've not heard of it in Canada - anybody familiar with it? Do you think you could be an interim parent?
