I've been told I look like various people - people who really don't look like each other. I dunno. Comments change as I age. I've gotten The Olsen twins, Meg Ryan, younger Jane Fonda, Maredith Baxter Burney (Family Ties mom) Hillary Clinton and Jennifer Aniston, Maggie Jylenhaal (sp.) - that I can see but not really many that people say ...depends on the day, my weight, my hair and the wrinkle cream I guess. But lots of people say I look like somebody else. There's a fairly good chance that we all have a look alike somewhere (not a twin separated at birth - and maybe not as much as the two in the OP). Here's the basic science:

I've gotten Chuck Colson, and Mike "Bubbles" Smith.
 
There is a woman in my congregation - we were complete strangers but joined at about the same time, 7 or 8 years ago. She is about my age, my height, both of us wear glasses, her hair is just a bit whiter than mine although it is obvious we both had dark hair at one time. Until her recent illness we were near the same weight and body build. Yes, I get mistaken for her. Usually its just momentary - someone says "Hello Peggy" and I smile and say "No, it's Seeler." Sometimes it has caused a problem. Once I was ushering before the service started when the Faith Development leader rushed up to me "Aren't you in the nursery! I have you down for nursery today!" This person is organized; she knows exactly where everyone on her watch should be. But, while I was usually available for Sunday School supply, I couldn't remember committing to Nursery - my least favourite age group. Since she doesn't make mistakes, I quickly found someone to take over ushering and rushed to the Nursery, only to find my double rocking a baby while a couple of toddlers played wwith the teenage helper.
Strangely, when I asked, Peggy told me that she has never been mistaken for me.

I'm kinda used to being mistaken - for much of our lives (even when we live several provinces apart) I'm mistaken for my older sister. People will pick up a conversation with me and I will have no idea what their talking about until I remember that they probably saw my sister recently.
But that is family resemblance. Peggy and I are no relation.
 
I'm told I'm always mistaken ... I know nothing especially about doubles and reflections ...

But who would know better in a world that despises visors and people with abilities ... it is better who you know than what ... thus in success theology people claim to know the ultimate. It appears improbable unless you are well-racked and stretched to the limit ... how medieval teachers expanded knowledge of that beyond us ...
 
Wow. Talk about "separated at birth". Sigh, the only people I resemble are blood relatives, and not much even them since I started sporting a beard a couple decades back (I'm the only one in the family with a full beard).
 
I look a lot like my mother. Not too much like my dad - except my features aren't as slender as my mom's - her nose is the same but smaller/ narrower - so I guess I get the wider face from my dad. But my mom and me at 14 looked almost identical in photos. Likewise for my dad and (half) brother. He and I look nothing alike. He looks a bit like (young)Adam Sandler now.

Thus Murphy's Law about how things go wrong ... too many professional airs? Some loose spirit is required as in wanderlust ... Jonathan Swift ?
 
I am constantly being mistaken for other people. Generally not anyone famous.

Although some famous people have confused me for other people.

My favourite mistaken identity conversation was in a Church in Guelph.

Stranger asked me if I got my hearing aids yet? I responded, "What?" So he shouted slowly, "DID . . . YOU . . .GET . . ." The camp people I was with doubled over in laughter. A few moments later I had finally convinced my concerned friend that I wasn't who he thought I was.
 
I don't exactly walk with a red carpet gait, so I don't get actually mistaken for anyone famous. Just told "you look like___", (or "you really look like your mom"by some relatives). And I have once had a woman come up all enthusiastic and start talking to me about something thinking I was somebody else. It was awkward. Or, people say "You used to go to such and such place, right? Or, "I met you before, you know Johnny, right?" Uh, no. Happens on the bus a lot. I never get told I look like myself.

I have a doppelgänger living in the same area- but I never met her. people greet me with her name and the worsest was when someone hugged me from behind. Apearently, she has a German background as well, so the same accent. I wonder if we really look alike or if it is just the accent people hear.
 
Saxon Eire or saac son's error? Like a packet of light in photon research? How does one measure Levite-like attributes ? Through far out reflection! You can't do it when immersed ... causes aberrations! Sort of like a fish correcting for the offset position of the bug ... a zoological enigma?
