Howzit the government deliberately raises costs on Canadian businesses with retaliatory tariffs, then turns around and offers them subsidies paid for by the taxpayers?
 
Rita, we're in a trade war. We understand some economic sectors will be hurt and we don't want them to go out of business before either this ends or they can pivot to other markets.

All the premiers are on board, except Danielle Smith, who idolizes Trump. She doesn't want the retaliatory tariffs. Even she agrees the deal offered was terrible for Canada.

You can't back down against Trump. It emboldens him.
 
The fact that some products are easier to import from other countries than from other provinces within Canada is something that sticks in my craw but I am not sure how you get it through the heads of provincial leaders and producers that this kind of internal protectionism is just as counterproductive as international protectionism, maybe moreso.
 
Howzit that Carney can claim “We are stronger now than when the United States started this trade war. More unified, more determined and more ambitious,” when official records confirm insolvencies hit over 13,000 in June 2026-roughly 17 consumer filings per hour?
 
Howzit looking for Canada if the USMCA falls apart - especially with those baseline MOUs (just understandings, not signed deals) making their other Free Trade Agreements contingent on US market access?

Like many things, it's a matter of taste. I prefer a good mustard (or even a so-so one) or BBQ sauce on dogs. Chopped raw or fried onions are good, too. But never been a fan of ketchup.

Yes, I agree, Mendalla. It's all about taste.

On my hotdog I like just bacon, aged Canadian cheddar, and sweet relish. On a top-sliced bun.

But what determinez taste? Yeobo lovez spicy food. I can't eat it at all. And while I like ketchup on friez, eggz, and grilled cheezuz, I can't stand the stuff on hotdogz

For some its the workz ... deal with it ... a job not to criticize things that don't affect the greater self?

What is that greater challenge ... something to relate to, with, over, etc.? Then there are the extreme isolationists ... them out there in their field ... making themselves a target? The hidden image in DH Lawrence's Novel that lady chattering in nature? Few hear by choice of turning down the senses ... imagine curing the blind, deaf and mute without feeling and that stinking thought (that there is more to it).

Dear Me declared Peter Ustinov ... the autonomous gift? That is to know more than what's confined ... thus the urge to get out ... The Great Escape of Lawrence Arabia as arid? Doth whet the desire ... for that in wrap ... Middle Eastern San Witches ... ephemeral relations ... Syble(sybil)? Took wills breath away ... ora*cle ... gravid? Fake un-dirth ... scarcity, poverty ... out of reach? Many have no taste for more, or Morey ... on Tuesdays ... thus Mist midweek!

Given the choice, my wife will always take Chinese over anything Western. My d-i-l has tastes probably similar to your Yeobo, likes things very very spicy. Her family are from Pakistan originally and she grew up on South Asian cuisine which tends to be very spicy.

Another example. I love maple syrup. My wife is fine with just "pancake syrup" or similar. She didn't grow up in the heart of maple syrup country, though. We used to buy it in 1 or 2 litre cans of it at the local farmer's market when I was a kid.

Now, epigenetics would suggest that those learned experiences can end up coded into genes so your Yeobo and my d-i-l might literally have genes that make them more receptive to spicy food. But it does seem to start with experiences.

Howzit that any reasonable person takes this Carney hyperbole seriously?
