Gosh - just watching some news on CNN today as I have lunch - so much destruction in the Mexico Beach area. Looks like some areas were mobile homes, (or maybe RVs?), which is a fairly common type of community in Florida I think. Those buildings are totally gone, but some that seem to be permanent structures and likely newer construction are still standing. Very sad to see.

I find myself wondering how Trump will respond to this relative to response to the Puerto Rico devastation last year. If different, will it be because he learned something from last year, or because it's a mainland 'white people' community? Impossible to tell I suppose.

The response to Florence, which hit the Carolinas primarily, was certainly more robust. As you say, it's hard to tell if this is lessons learned or worse. Really, though, Katrina should have taught FEMA and related agencies all they needed to learn. After that disaster of a disaster recovery, there's really no excuse to not have learned.

Scary thing with Michael is how quickly and close to the US it formed. Usually they form out closer to the Canaries and roll in so there's some time to track them and figure out who's in harm's way. This one started right in the Gulf/Caribbean basin.

Do rich states of observation see things differently when observed from the opposite end of the scales?

Yesterday on one site, someone from FEMA was indicated to be briefing the POTUS on the hurricane ... and he asked the expert: "Is this really happening?" as if it was falls Nous like Puerto Rico!

If one lives in a bubble of their own truth ... does ultimate knowledge and sensitivities degrade? Possibly just a mental enigma ... an illusion of phantom light! Tis imaginary within the head ... as it should be going on out there ...

Really baffles some BS conditions ... an odd occasion? Home grown brain storms can't really be a virtue ... right?
 
Trump has property in Florida, and I understand some of his base is there, so maybe it will make him consider helping more.

For him it's "If you are my fan I will help you and if you are not, I won't."
 
No - Trump's property is not near here at all.

And then yesterday, when one would hope he might be engaged with FEMA stuff - he was meeting with Kanye West .... OMG that monologue by Kanye was more than a bit weird! A performance by Trump I think - show the people of colour that I care ... sheesh ... pathetic.

But back to the panhandle - I can't even imagine how long it will take to restore the communities. I suppose on the one hand they are used to big storms, but on the other, they don't normally face such widespread devastation. I suspect it will be a Katrina type recovery over many years, and for some places not at all.
 
I think it would be cool if the people with property loss were offered twice it's value to move away and build elsewhere.

I have nothing to say about their 'loss leader' bloke and his general lack of good taste and ethical behaviour.

I just read the transcript of Kanye’s speech. It seemed (more than) a bit manic, didn’t it? Though, he may have a point about the alternate universe thing. It feels like we quantum slipped into bizarro world ever since Trump was elected...even while he was running in the election.

I posted an analysis of the whole Trump support movement with Kanye as the starting point in the Trump thread this morning.
 
Man IC ... polarization bi degrees thus duality ... if gathered it is sometimes considered a deficiency if love isn't lost and one takes up hate against whatever you don't know ... some are big on this sense! Thus chaos ad continuum ... and they are unaware of ID ... sometimes known asself or ICH where the "H" is ETA or nun ... close to the "n"!

That's when you know something fishy about mankind ... as OI'd ... Grumpy Old Men! They didn't get it ... too close to grasp ... few can get a hold of their's elf ... as tis considered bad for raising urchins ... prickly wee morphs of morphine induced images ...

Some see these before stoic projections of weird light ... tis an abstract encounter ... nothing to it!

The stuff and not-stuff (essence) that one has to get over ... and onto the other gradient!
