"Though he was in the form of God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross."
This is the Jesus who informs my way in the sight of God. Years ago I gave up all I had learned about Jesus by the teaching of the Christian religion. Just as the person gave up everything to obtain treasure buried in a field. The Christian religion being the field and Jesus being the treasure. It matters little that Christians will not accept my position. What matters is that God has blessed me with assurance of my salvation (healing) and a calling to service in the way of love.
I am persuaded that what we profess with words is affirmed by our deeds and not by correct doctrine. Here are words from scripture that encourage me along my way:
"The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. That is how it is with everyone born of the spirit."
"God is a spirit: and they that worship God must worship in spirit and in truth."
"God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in that person."
