I would actually really like it if everyone around here could express their own opinions, as their own truths, from their own heart, un-mediated by others' opinions. Without bible passages, and large memes.

There's no 'fact' here.

I am mainly 'deceived' by advertising. I avoid it by listening largely to CBC Radio 2.

But then how would the false prophets operate?

I do like the idea @Kimmio put forward. If I find a good meme I might share it.

Agreeing with you about the large memes, especially the ones that consist of biblical quotes. These ones usually remind me of shouting.

There is seldom any reason to post a long biblical passage but I don't see anything wrong with a relevant verse or two if it contributes to discussion. Often it is worthwhile to ponder how the bible can be used to support different sides of an argument. As in, here is where the bible says one thing, here is where it says another . . .

Agreeing about opinions being our own truths from our own hearts.

I only intend to, if I do so again, put memes and bold paragraphs in unsafe's threads when they start to go 'round in circles.

I get the sense that unsafe has some fun picking out her memes and choosing what words to make stand out for effect - that's how she likes to communicate - so maybe I'll do the same.

One thing I will say for @unsafe is that she is extremely well acquainted with the bible. Much more so than I am!

On the bible study threads, she often has me looking up various passages to determine whether or not I go along with her interpretations.

Agreeing with your earlier comment that we don't know unsafe very well. I would be interested to know where she lives and which denomination she belongs to, for starters.

Wow ---this is all to funny ---you guys are like the Pharisees plotting on how to deal with Jesus -----

Here is the thing here people -----I have no problem with others believing what they want ----to me that is their choice --if people want to reject Jesus and God and His word that is fine by me --your setting your own destructive eternal life in my view and from what God says in His word about eternal life and death -----none of us know what lies ahead after we die ---we can only speculate ----

What we do have is The Bible which contains God's Word ----that is what we are left with ------and the Bible describes in detail both heaven and hell ----and the word tells us how we are going to each place -----so we all have a choice in where we end up -----God is not responsible for sending people to eternal torment ---we are by our own choice -----

The word Christian was started by unbelievers as poking fun toward believers and that is Scriptural ------this word was picked up by Paul and stuck ----so it is a man made term -----meant for followers of Jesus Christ who have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit ----not for people who are unbelievers and have not their heart regenerated ----this word has become of no effect --it is just a term many like to use as it gives them a sense of belonging in my view which is a false sense of security --

People who reject Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and who are worldly are suppose to think and act contrary to what the Bible says -----they are suppose to say things like -----while the crowd was large and therefore miscommunication and error took place -----that you don't need Jesus to follow the Bible etc -------there are many worldly interpretations of what the word says ----that is not my theology ----I don't believe in this and that of what the Bible says etc--etc---This is what unbelievers are suppose to say and think -----

People who use the word Christian are suppose to be of the Spirit ---that is the True meaning of this Word ---Christ-ian--Today it is having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit ---So when people use this word to describe themselves as having the Holy Spirit and they don't they are in fact making a false statement to others who know what this word actually means ----God knew that many would misuse this term and False Christians are talked about much in the Scriptures ------The Pharisees are the true example of False Christians ------and today there are many --many and many more that misuse and abuse this term CHRIST--IAN ---

Greek word here for Christ--ian

Christianos: a Christian
Usage: a Christian.
a Christian, a follower of Christ:----. onward accepted by them as a title of honor. under the word; on the 'Titles of Believers in the N. T.' ., under the word 'Faithful'.)

By people using this word for they own ego privilege in a haphazard way they are in fact slapping God in the face and misusing a title held in honor ----and mocking and ridiculing His very Name --- This word Christ means anointed one ----and without the Holy Spirit dwelling in us we are not anointed by God ----we are in fact under the rule of Satan and that is according to God's word ----------not me -----

The KJV translates Strong's G5547 in the following manner: Christ (569x).
Outline of Biblical Usage [?]
Christ = "anointed

I take God's word very seriously and I live by the word ---I do NOT Follow any kind of Man Made Religion ----I Follow what I have in my possession and that is what God Left me ----His Word -----I attend church to worship God and hear His word but I do not follow any of the churches governing rules or regulations ------The Church organizations today are mainly run by False Christians and Hypocrites in my opinion ---- not many Ministers are Holy Spirit filled True Christians today and they are preaching False Doctrine and are twisting scripture to sugar coat what the message really is I believe out of fear of loosing their people sitting in the pews if the real Truth is preached ------

I started this Thread to shed some light on this word CHRIST--IAN ----

Please Note Here

So here is the thing about Me ---I WILL stand up for God and His word when I see people using this word CHRIST-IAN and then at the same time DISRESPECTING God and His word -------the word was made flesh ------Jesus is the word and so when I see comments made on any Thread and that includes bible study threads that are disrespectful to God and His word while that person calls themselves a Christ--ian I will comment ------Disrespectful comments made are not the person's beliefs they are just disrespectful comments about God and His word -----

Expect Me to reply and if I am banned for standing up for God and His word ---So be it ----

Jesus was killed for standing in truth ---and no one here can kill me ----all You can do is band me from speaking truth -----that will be your choice -------and I will let God handle the rest -------

Here is a great scripture ---this is todays scripture for the Luke thread ---this is for all those who believe Jesus came to just bring all warm and fussy things for us -----and forget about the hard things He came to do -----

Luke 12:49-59 GOD’S WORD Translation (GW)
Jesus Will Cause Conflict
49 “I have come to throw fire on the earth. I wish that it had already started! 50 I have a baptism to go through, and I will suffer until it is over.

51 “Do you think I came to bring peace to earth? No! I can guarantee that I came to bring nothing but division. 52 From now on a family of five will be divided. Three will be divided against two and two against three. 53 A father will be against his son and a son against his father. A mother will be against her daughter and a daughter against her mother. A mother-in-law will be against her daughter-in-law and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

So here is the thing about Me ---I WILL stand up for God and His word when I see people using this word CHRIST-IAN and then at the same time DISRESPECTING God and His word -------the word was made flesh ------Jesus is the word and so when I see comments made on any Thread and that includes bible study threads that are disrespectful to God and His word while that person calls themselves a Christ--ian I will comment ------Disrespectful comments made are not the person's beliefs they are just disrespectful comments about God and His word -----
Here's the thing about discussion. What you call disrespect in these discussions is usually not disrespect but disagreement about interpretation. And to continue to insist otherwise shows a distinct inability to actually engage in conversation.

GordW -----your quote ----Here's the thing about discussion. What you call disrespect in these discussions is usually not disrespect but disagreement about interpretation. And to continue to insist otherwise shows a distinct inability to actually engage in conversation.

unsafe says -----here is the thing GordW -----I am not interested in Worldly Interpretation of Scripture ----The Bible is a Spiritual Book and needs Spiritual Discernment which NO HUMAN can give -----and That is Scriptural -----The Holy Spirit knows the Spiritual Meaning of the scripture not Humans -----If I am reading the scripture then I want the Spiritual not the worldly view -----If someone is interested in learning what the Spiritual meaning of the scripture is then I will engage all day long to help that person and I have through the credit of relying on the direction and guidance Holy Spirit done just that ----

If People are interested in just twisting scripture to suit their worldly views and to be able to continue in their life styles they want to them I have no interest in engaging in conversation ------the Bible is foolish to worldly people and that to is scriptural -----

I am not interested in talking with people who teach False Doctrine and wrongly divide the word ----There are many False Preachers out there today doing just that and leading their whole Church down a destructive Path and have no remorse about doing it -----When I hear False Doctrine ---I do what Forest Gump did -----Run Forest Run -----

Paul says it best for me -----and he says it TWICE here GodW ---seems to be important to me -----

AT no point in Jewish or Christian thought has there been one universally held "spiritual" interepretation of any Scripture passage or theological doctrine. Heterodoxy is the lived existence of the church. Just because one has a differing reading does not make it "wordly" and yours "spiritual".

unsafe says ---

That may be in your man made Religion of Judaism but that is not The Way it is in the Bible I have-- If Christianity bases it Religion on the Bible then they have Spiritual guidance ----The Holy Spirit enlightens us to the Spiritual Truth of what real message of the scripture is ---John 16:13 there GodW ------that is one of the functions of the Holy Spirit ----the Holy Spirit has several functions in what I follow -----

this is another ----

The Holy Spirit will never guide anyone to Preach or speak something contrary to what the scripture says -----and so if a Minister preaches a sermon contrary to what God's Truth says --the true Christian then knows not to listen to that message -----

This is from Got Questions --you can read all -----

"What is the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives today?"

Among those functions is that of revealer of truth. The Spirit’s presence within us enables us to understand and interpret God’s Word. Jesus told His disciples that “when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).

He reveals to our minds the whole counsel of God as it relates to worship, doctrine, and Christian living. He is the ultimate guide, going before, leading the way, removing obstructions, opening the understanding, and making all things plain and clear.
He leads in the way we should go in all spiritual things. Without such a guide, we would be apt to fall into error. A crucial part of the truth He reveals is that Jesus is who He said He is (John 15:26; 1 Corinthians 12:3). The Spirit convinces us of Christ’s deity and incarnation, His being the Messiah, His suffering and death, His resurrection and ascension, His exaltation at the right hand of God, and His role as the judge of all. He gives glory to Christ in all things (John 16:14).
