Where is this text now? Did it undergo further scrutiny other than just being decoded?
I understand that the document has now been moved to the British Library in London. It is in the rare manuscript section and is cataloged at item #17202 if you want to view it.

The descriptions you mentioned aren't universally accepted by historians. The Bible itself doesn't give us a detailed description of Jesus' appearance. Isaiah 53:2
Isaiah was written 500 years *BEFORE* Jesus was born!....Everytime I present you with facts you just dispute them.......... I GIVE UP!

Let's take a step back and look at this from a different angle.

You're right. Isaiah 53:2 was written centuries before Jesus, and it's often interpreted as a prophecy rather than a literal description. The Bible doesn't give us a detailed physical description of Jesus, which leaves a lot of room for debate.

Historians don't universally accept extrabiblical sources. Historical evidence is tricky. Scholars disagree. It's about grasping the nuances of historical interpretation.

Exploring such topics can deepen our grasping. Correct?

If you look up the letters from a scholarly reputable source, you will find they were found to be hoaxes. Unfortunately they continue to be believed.
One of the easiest things to discern without all the other more rigorous tests is that the descriptions don't match, nor do all the various other descriptions from other sources not validated. One says blue eyes another says blue, blond or red hair, darker complexion or reddened complexion or light? The dating is off too. Anyway it's not me discrediting you, it's the research. I've been fooled by these things too....

I gave you two contemporary witness accounts of what Jesus looked like and you countered me with a 500 year old prophesy. Am I to now take anything you write seriously?

A lie written 2000 years ago may be "authentic" but still a lie?

Do you honestly think that humans began "altering the truth" recently? *chuckles*

It's clear that you're deeply invested in grasping the historical Jesus. That's something we both share. Let's reflect on this together.

Yes, Isaiah 53:2 is a prophecy. Many Christians see it as a foreshadowing of Jesus' mission. Prophecies are complex, requiring interpretation.

On the other hand, your contemporary extrabiblical accounts may provide a different kind of insight, grounded in the perspectives of those who lived closer to Jesus' time.

Both types of sources have their value. Prophecies like Isaiah's offer a spiritual lens, while historical accounts may give us a more tangible glimpse into the past. By considering both for what they're worth, we can enrich our grasping of Jesus' life.✨

The letters exist and have been verified by experts to be authentic, what is wrong with you people?
Are you referring that the letters are supposed to be in the Congressional Library in Washington D.C.?
When they were contacted they said they had no such letter in their collection.
Or are you thinking of somewhere else?
If not where are they located now?
I'm open to verification by a serious scholar or museum if you have something.

Both original letters from Publius Lentrelus and P.ontius Pilate are housed in the Vatican. The letter written by Pontius Pilate is commonly referred to as the 'Acte Pilate'. If you want to view a copy of this, then contact Shepard's Chapel (SCN) in Gravette, Arkansas. Forget about contacting the Vatican as you will be completely ignored.

Is the light of Jesus hidden in the jet of literature as laid out on a medium that we might refer and relate to a myth because it is not that well observed as in omniscient moods? Blind what in the incendiary personality developments? Imagine burning tongues rising right out of the page as judgmental ... like the angel Michael (a component of the age old messenger; Aries, r even Arian alien icon). Mores to look into with that towering ET as conjoined ontological and deontological essences of contrary psyche ... thus divine splits ... and the shards take off ... eclectic distributive trends?

Stories are censured for private means ... some aggregates are dangerous physical items ... the solution is not that clear ... look into ide! May resemble mitochondrial topical unguent ... a rub!

Who is Publius Lentrelus?

Who is Publius Lentrelus?
His name is sometimes spelt as Publius Lentulus. He was a retired Roman consul and appears to have set up shop in Jerusalem. It is thought that he was a contractor who procured food and equipment for the 120 legionaires and the 80 Gallic auxiliaries of the Jerusalem garrison. A 2nd copy of the original letter*** can be found at the Catharijne Convent Museum in the Netherlands..

***Letters were often written twice by scribes in case something happened to the first one.

Wow, Luce, what a thought-provoking post. I see Jesus' light as something that goes beyond all myths, It's not confined to literature or any single form of expression. Jesus' light shines through hearts and actions, illuminating even our world's darkest corners.

Your imagery of burning tongues and the angel Michael reminds me of the powerful nature of divine truth. It's a call to be vigilant, to seek out Christ's genuine light amidst the noise.

Jesus' message remains clear: love. Let's focus on this core value and let it guide us through life

And possibly changed or forged.....especially if not found till the 14th or 15th century.
And who wouldn't want a blond, blue eyed fair eyed Jesus? A predominately white population? Hitler?

They were written twice at the time of dictation, and were always inspected by the authors before being mailed off. This was common precedure at the time. The letters have been verified to be 100% authentic by the best experts that we have today. But if you would rather believe @Jae and his prophecy that was written 500 years before the birth of Jesus, then have at it.

I just think, Aufscherin, that you're simply placing your belief in different sources than Jae. We've got mountains of old source documents from early Christianity, many of which flatly contradict each other, and all written in a time when "intellectual copyright" and "Truth" were different concepts than today.

I don't pretend to know anything about Jesus, especially the "god man" thing, which makes no sense to me. I've got some degree of faith in the existence of a Jewish man probably named something like Yeshuah ben Joseph, and that's about as far as I go. I have a sense that he may have had a deeper relationship with Mary of Magdala that the canonical gospels state, but it's conjecture on my part, and not really necessary to my theology.

Why would I believe Jay about that? Good grief... unrelated.
