If the discovery at the end of one's quest is the discovery of the creator within, then the quest really only begins. Then the question is not really answered in any absolute or ultimate way; it is just that the ultimate answerer is found: The answer resides where the question arises; the questioner is his or her own answerer! In other words, there are no absolutely true answers that can be found "out there" or answered by someone in supreme authority. We, the questioner, create our answer!
The creator in us creates the answers, just as the creator in us creates the questions. Ultimately, though, it is the self-creative universe that has become self-aware and self-creative in us and through us that asks the questions and answers them. We are--every one of us individually, and all of us collectively--the creative cosmic mind that creates the answers to its questions.
It is, of course, necessary to think and study, contemplate and meditate, to read and write and discuss and go on journeys, but what we discover on our quest, or create as the result of our discovery, is always our self-created answer to our self-created question.
Without stepping out of the door, one can see the world.
Without looking out of the window, one can see the ways of heaven.
The farther one goes, the less one knows.
-Lao Tsu
"The farther one goes, the less one knows," means the farther one goes away from the internal answerer or creator, the less one knows. Mere imitation is not knowledge. Yet imitation is highly prized in our Western/Christian culture.
Some imitation is, of course, essential in the childhood stage of our individual development, and maybe cultural and societal development as well. But eventually we have graduate from the "school of imitation" and move from imitator to creator.
But those in authority don't want us to graduate, eh, Lucifer? They want us to remain imitators; they want us imitate what they feed us.

-The Pope
"If society swallows what is fed to them by the Church, then society is doomed."
