If you get to moral conclusions through Jesus, great. I see biblical reasoning behind immoral conclusions enough that I don't think the bible is a net positive in the world. Not anymore. I admire those of you who do get there through (or despite) Jesus, but it's funny that you're standing with atheists, against other Christians.

It maybe the metaphorical appearance as the word is variably interpreted ...

From my own experience, I think single-sourced morality of any kind carries that risk. Assuming morality based on what source someone uses is moreso. There are many thinkers and traditions out there. The more of them you engage with and try to understand, the more likely you are to find what is moral in them. But taking one source and going "this is right" without any real examination or thought is setting you up for problems, IMHO.

That could lead to variable binarism ... would the single-way folk get distraught? The great mystery came up with some gross steroids ...

If a true virtue ... will you soon be out of here dispatched by the brutal crowd ... all in mania?

That's the rabbit hole ...

The core moral imperative from Jesus is love one another with love meaning willing to give of self for the good of another, like my donation of a kidney
We are not suppose to boast about the good that we do for others -----that is seen in scripture as puffing yourself up ---giving us humans the glory not God -----

Matthew 6:3-4 Amplified Bible (AMP)But when you give to the poor and do acts of kindness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing [give in complete secrecy], so that your charitable acts will be done in secret; and your Father who sees [what is done] in secret will reward you.

Ego needs to be fed in our human form ----Jesus laid ego down

The scripture that says "do not be like the hypocrites" is in the Bible in Matthew 6:5:
  • Matthew 6:5: "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men

unsafe, your main purpose here is telling us how much better of a Christian you are than all these other people. One of us gives one example of how people who do not believe like you are doing good for others in this world, and we're bragging.

I don't think you're aware of the damage you do to your faith, but I'm not about to complain. Keep it up.

Yah, but just picture how humble this person is as they go about their dark business ... it has to be dark and mysterious given the thickness of the lies told ...
powers will just not admit to anything ...

Unsafe, how do you know that @jimkenney12 intended to egotistically brag? He was most probably sharing with good intent - to encourage and inspire others to do same or similar things

How do you know he wasn't bragging ????????

Apart from Jesus we can do nothing good that honors God ----we can all look whitewashed on the outside -----but if we are not whitewashed on the inside -----we are in ego --I --me --myself

He would have been better off to say -------God gave me 2 good kidneys so I could Bless another in need -----that way your giving Glory to God for the kidney he gave you to be able to help another in need ----

Did you not know that everytime someone uses I they are feeding their Ego ----means --I --me -self --I did it --I helped ---I cleaned the house ----ego feeding self ---

Have you thought according to your own ideas, that you are feeding your own ego through your criticism?

Have you thought according to your own ideas, that you are feeding your own ego through your criticism?
You call it criticism ---I call it stating truth ----so we just interprete what I posted differently ==

You see it from a worldly Lens ---I see it through Christ who resides in me --which is the Spiritual lens ----

So The lens you view what I posted is right for you ===

And the lens I view what i posted is right for me ---

No one is wrong ---we just view things different

Different lens ---leads to different Views is all

I'd like to think I have a view that includes compassion, love and hopefully understanding.
The thing is, Jim is a regular poster here, we know him ( granted it's an online relationship for most), but I can't help but think how far from the mark you were when you said the above about his intentions.
Jim may have reached someone thinking about organ donation or needing one....we may never know....it's how things work sometime.
My brother's daughter received more than one kidney transplant for her rare condition of Cystinosis.....she eventually passed away at the age of 27 ( years ago), but when she was diagnosed at 2 years old, no one in the world made it past their 5th birthday.....now those patients can survive much, much longer. She took every experimental drug that was offered, she was the first child in Canada to have peritoneal dialysis and whenever that started failing she had another transplant if one was available.
So reading about Jim's experience, I thought it was lovely and uplifting to hear.
Please reconsider......it wasn't bragging in my mind.....you almost never hear about the donors....

Remember folks ... UNSAFE knows all ... everything ... as that is her BS! Even without the humble piece ... its key!

This is not part and parcel of the powerful Christianity ... that is humble Christianity that went down ... rather like folly ... don't you think! Oh yes we the under standards are not to think ... it interferes with the plan of stupefying the entire case ... the eternal dark side ...

Mysterious as heat in the night!

Don't, so long as "know" means to have 100% absolute certainty. At the same time, I feel I know what happened and I believe most here see things basically the same way - to illustrate a point he was making, @jimkenney12 briefly mentioned something good he had done, and then you took the opportunity to show off your theological knowledge. It doesn't seem to me to be jim's ego which is so easily bruised
