Biblical Inerrancy?????

What makes you presume that I would want to share my personal background with any of you? You presume far too much if you think that I trust any of you, because I don't....nor will I.
Not presuming anything at all. Just wanting to assure you I wasn't going to ask for details. Trust us or not, it's your choice.

One of the most obvious additions to the bible is the ending of Mark that was added because a scribe didn't like the way it ended.
Then theres one of the most beloved stories of Jesus...the story of the Adulterous Woman, which was said to have been added in the 15th century.
Some will say it was from the oral history of Jesus and passed down, thus finally included later on, and others think it came from a different source.
Neither story is even in the biblical text of new translations. These stories are based on the corrupt Greek text used for the King James translation in the early 1600s.

First, the BIble never even claims to be inerrant.
Second, the New Testament cannot comment on its own divine inspriation as a whole because it didn't even exist as a consensual collection of books for centuries.
Third, Paul at times distinguishes his mere "opinion" expressed in his epistle from his at authoritatve divine revelation.

The real issue here is the ignorance of skeptics of how an informed Christian might defend the authenticity of Jesus' miracles and resurrection.
In that regard, they are not honest truth seekers but denizens of a closed-minded intellectual Ghetto whn pontificate from ignorance.

From ignorance you say? Have my posts on the historical origins of this and that proved me ignorannt? FYI I am a published author of a histortical fiction book dealing with the year of the four Caesars. (Galba, Otho ,Vitellius, Vespasian) Do you have any inkling as to how much research goes into writing a book like that, do you?

And no, you lot will *NOT* be privy to the books title as I have no desire or wish to be identified on here. I also wrote a thesis on the archaelogical digs at Pompeii and Heracleum in order to qualify for a course that I was taking...."ignorant indeed". How truly unlikeable you are, how unlike the Nazarean that you purport to follow you are. You are nothing like him at all.

@Jae is what you should be like but will never be. He is the very definition of humble. He truly is a Christian, while you just go through the motions and pretend to be.

@Aufscherin
You are coming to some very quick conclusions about some of our members here.

I have seen you lock horns with a few very well respected members. And now you are lauding a known troublemaker.

Brother @Jae has recently returned to us following a long absence. (He was banned for disciplinary reasons.) At this time he striving to demonstrate that he has turned over a new leaf. Let's hope so!

Some of the relationships on this site have over a decade of history behind them. This might be worth remembering.

But bring on your new perspective. We can use fresh eyes also.

I am not a passive person, I intend to tell it like it is. (my truth, maybe not yours) By the way @paradox 3 I did not come her looking for a mother, so stop trying to be one.
Okay. I can do that. It's true, I am old enough to be your mother. :D

Yes I understand this has been corrected, but the stories will persist.....
I actually like the story of the Adulterous Woman, no reason it couldn't be told on its own, there's a strong lesson there.

A lot of harm has been done by fundamentalists, especially in the Appalachian region, who invoke the bogus ending of Mark to justify handling rattle snakes and drinking rat poison. True, they usually do so with impunity and cite that as proof of the effectiveness of their faith in Jesus' promise in `6:17-18. But some of them get very sick and even die by doing so.

Also misleading is Jesus' so-called promise: "These signs shall follow those who belieive: they shall speak with new tongues (16:17)."
By far the spiritual high point in my life was my ecstatic experience at age 16 of speaking in tongues. But it is heretical to elevate speaking in tongues as a sign" of the true believer, as if those who have not speoken in tongues are 2nd class Christians.

Wonderfully said, Mystic, especially since there are some awesome followers of Christ who are cessationists, and then some also who believe that the gift of tongues is still given by the Spirit but is now/ has always been the ability to speak in other actual languages. I myself am in the delightful "open but cautious" school when it comes to tongues
