Tough love and forgiveness aren’t always beneficial, sometimes, they can do more harm than good. Your perspective highlights how tough love approaches often lead to harm rather than healing, which raises serious questions about their legitimacy. Likewise, forgiveness can sometimes pressure people into premature reconciliation or accepting harm without meaningful accountability. These ideas, while often seen as positive, may in some cases function more as social control mechanisms that protect those in power while leaving vulnerable individuals to suffer. These are complex but important issues to consider, especially when well-intended principles end up causing unintended harm.Forgiveness without accountability could also be a contradiction in terms?
If there is no accountability what is there to forgive?
Accountability with the purpose to heal and educate and not condemn or seek revenge, of course.
Forgiveness brings the forgiver peace of mind, body, and soul.
Probably the reason why so many spiritual practices encourage forgiveness.
