"Jesus as the one and only way" is certainly what I was taught as a child. Correct belief was required in order to receive the gift of salvation.

Not saying I fully accepted this but it was taught to me in Sunday school.

Comment from above -------I would say so. Many others would want to universalize it as "Jesus is the one and only Way". I find that to be in error and poor theology.

Well I find that many who teach and tell others there is more than one way other than Jesus is spreading False doctrine which is very poor theology and in error of what God Himself says -and are sending people to their eternal death ----all in the name of wanting there to be another way other than Jesus ------

This is what God says -----

Isaiah 44:6 ESV

Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god.

@ unsafe ... you do have a despicable attitude towards your fellow folk (sibling) when the word said to love thy brother or sister as the anima/animus animosity rises ... is that the holy 8?

Upstanding icon ... of the infinite as laid out ...

I think of Cain putting his Able Syble/sable down ... skunked as Pepe la Pu ... mutinous insecurities?

It was certainly the catechism that I was required to memorize and regurgitate in order to be confirmed in the Lutheran church. I refused to wear white; was persuaded into a soft pink...

Yes, this was my experience in Sunday school, (ahem) a few years ago. One little ditty that we were taught to sing went:
One door, and only one, and yet its sides are two;
Inside or outside on which side are you?
One door, and only one, and yet its sides are two,
I'm on the inside! On which side are you?

Not only was it set to an earworm-worthy tune, it enforced a strict division between 'we' and 'the great unwashed', living no doubt whatsoever which gang was better.
Through the years I've also had to learn the lesson that Peter learned in Acts ch. 10. The dividing walls that we too often set up are pointless and useless in God's sight.

Lite and Levite ways can cause one to get carried off into one of two dimensions: emotional or intelligence!

As a duality some will render down the second light or vision into a dark singularity ... and black is said to the nonexistent as an absence of something or other in the mystery as it presents!

One might head east towards the rising creature as a prevision of V noos ... or west into the lack of the whole thing as indeterminate void ... and everything goes without responsibility for related matter and immaterial brothers and sisters ... irrational modes may render down to irresponsible behaviour attributes.

Attribute is a funny designation to study if you gat around to learning of such non substantial's ... and powers will decide the noos is out and thoughts depart (as noos was an archaic word for the ancient mind ... wise to leave Ide)? In a wiz perhaps ... in many powerful presentations ...

Followers of Jesus can choose either the traditional exclusive meaning used to serve the institutional church, or choose an inclusive understanding that the blanket with all the animals is a metaphor pointing farther than the comfortable interpretation made by Peter.
